Wow!, is just one word to explain how the product I received yesterday to taste. But before I let you in on the secret of what it is, let me tell you a some information about the company, and their back story.

Dave Chmielewski, the founder, and a former Detroit Fire Fighter, had always loved cooking and baking. However, as he started to create his famed sweet confections, the reaction was unlike anything he had ever seen before. Soon, people started calling the house and requesting that Dave make some more of this delicious, tasty treat. With a few handmade labels and some Ball Mason jars, Dave began selling his confectionery creations. What started as a passion soon became more of a full-time career. Dave's son, Andrew, had always liked his dad's food, so when he noticed the desire that his dad's confections, was making on others, he realized there was something out there. What started in the families kitchen turned into a business that spanned across the country. All the passion and love for these delicious confectionery creations, even got the attention of the Today Show, and Good Morning America.

The Michigan sweet treat is still homemade, and handmade today, with the same recipe his dad used, in small batches, and made with nothing but LOVE!

The pouch that the toffee comes in, looks like a ball mason jar, very cute. It is re-sealable so after you open it, if there is any toffee left, you can keep it fresh. Notice I said if there is any left! All the ingredients, no matter what flavor you choose is all natural. There is no, gluten, no artificial flavoring, no preservatives, and they are kosher certified. There is only one downfall, they are highly, additive! I'm sorry but there is no way you are only eating one piece no matter what the flavor.

The first bag to open was, Daves Sweet Tooth "dark chocolate cherry" Toffee. This is considered the homage to the companies Michigan roots. Due to the fact that it is the Cherry Capital. So, with that in mind, let me tell you what happens when you put a piece of these sweet treasures in your mouth.

The first thing you taste is this powdery dusting of almond, that not only covers this flavor but all of them. Then as you begin to chew, the chocolate begins to melt in your mouth. And when you think it doesn't get any better then this, you reach the delicious toffee. Oh wait, it does not stop there! After all that is almost gone, you get to chew on tiny bits of the cherries, and there is many of them. The taste is sweet, and a little tiny bit tart from the cherries, but a perfect combination.

All of these toffee's are best eaten alone, because if you don't, someone is bound to still the bag from you.

But I had to share, the family was sitting right there, just starring at the bags. So I let my daughter try with me, a piece of the next flavor from Daves SweetTooth Toffee. This was milk chocolate toffee. This flavor was just as wonderful, our mouths tonight are having a wonderful culinary party. The toffee is very light and buttery tasting. It still has that dusting of a powdered almond, then comes the almond toffee that is in between rich milk chocolate, and the best part crushed almonds. The nice part about the toffee is that you don't break your teeth biting into it. It has a semi soft texture, so it does not take away from the fact that it is a toffee. Now in my house, there is always a pot of coffee on, so I was excited to taste Daves Sweet Tooth Toffee "coffee" flavored. When you open the bag, it even has aromas of fresh brewed coffee. In fact one of the ingredients is coffee beans from Chazzano coffee from Michigan. These toffee's like all the toffee's are made in small batch's, and that is what makes them a true artisan product. The taste is unique and definitely tastes like coffee. The toffee has the same coating, and this time has dark chocolate. It's really nice to eat toffee that does not stick to your teeth, and none of these do. It's just pure exquisite toffee, that is delicious in every bite you take.

Now if you are a fan of dark chocolate, Daves Sweet Tooth Toffee's next bag is just that. Being that dark chocolate is usually on the bitter side, with this toffee that is not what you get at all. It's rich, and deep, and has a sweetness to it. The toffee is coated again with the dusting of almonds, and is filled with deliciousness all around. In every bite you taste the dark chocolate, and the crushed almonds, it's buttery, and a very sweet indulgence on your palate. If your willing to share these gems, they would make a great gift! The taste is buttery, and in every bite there is a burst of peanut butter and almond bits. The texture eating Daves Sweet Tooth Toffee "peanut butter crunch", is smooth, and buttery and even with the crunch still melts in your mouth. Any peanut butter lover, would really enjoy this one, but hey let's be honest they will fall in love with all of them. Even being a peanut butter product, it still did not stick to your teeth, and best part it did not make you thirsty.
