The Honey Jar Product Review

I, always love incorporating honey into my recipes, and my drinks. And today I got a nice surprise, a box of little honey jars, and a bag of honey sticks. The company is "The Honey Jar" from Ogden, Utah.

The owner of "The Honey Jar", is Kyle Kanno, and this company's success, started with a simple road trip. In 2010, is when the bee keeping started, and with great connections, not only does "The HoneyJar", market, they are a honey company. They we're named 2011 home based business of the year, by the Brigham City Area Chamber of Commerce, and in 2012 recognized by City Weekly Magazine as "Best of Utah". So today this family owned business specializes in raw honey, from their place to yours!

So with that being said, let's get started on what I received, and what I created.

First up was breakfast, and for that I made some homemade Southern biscuits with butter and "The Honey Jar", wildflower honey. Wildflower honey, is a great honey to cook with, also known as polyfloral honey. It comes from the nectar of many different types of flowers and blossoms. The taste of the wildflower honey melded with my butter on the biscuits, was so amazing. All of "The Honey Jar", products are unfiltered, unprocessed, guaranteed quality, and come in a cute glass jar, with a little Honey bear on the label. The reason for the glass jar, housing the honey, is to preserve the quality and the taste. The color of the wildflower honey is darker, then the others. This is due to the season to season effect. The flavor profile of the wildflower honey is light, and fruity, yet is has a full richness to it. It's delicate, in taste as well.

To go along with my homemade biscuits I made some spiced breakfast tea and used a orange honey stick. This stick is filled with orange esstential oil, with a sweet and nice mild flavor, and at the same time a nice light citrus fruity taste. The honey sticks are easy to use just snip off the end and squeeze. The taste with the other spices in my tea was delightful. Over all it was like adding fresh squeezed oranges into my tea!

Lunch was another meal that I incorporated "The Honey Jar", honey into. And what I made was a cauliflower crusted pizza with a sunny side up egg, and some of the clover honey. Honey is great on any food, it really adds a distinguished flavor. Clover honey is pleasing, and this one has a nice mild taste to it. It really contributed a ton of flavor to my cauliflower pizza. "The Honey Jar", clover honey had a very clean, taste as well, no bitterness what so ever. All the honey was semi thick, and very easy to spread, and to pour. Also the clover honey when I opened the jar had a wonderful floral aroma. Clover honey is the most common honey there is. And this honey from "The Honey Jar", taste nothing like store brands, it is delectable. It is a pure natural raw honey. The color is a amazing amber. So great for cooking, or just tasting on a spoon.

To drink with my lunch I made a nice iced ginger lemon drink, and used a lemon honey stick as a replacement for sugar. The taste of the lemon honey stick melded perfectly with the natural iced ginger drink. And as a sugar alternative, tasted even better. Better tasting and much easier then squeezing fresh lemons.

My dinner was a baked ham, and cheese, and broccoli casserole and topped with orange blossom honey from "The Honey Jar". This honey is a single source varietal, which means it was made from the nectar of orange blossoms, by a collection of bees. This is a lighter honey, and is wonderfully sweet. It worked very well with my ham casserole, and would be great with any food you choose to use it with. Hot food, or cold food all these honey products would work fantastic. If you suffer from allergies, orange blossom honey is great for that. Also honey is a great alternative to sugar, and much more beneficial. Orange blossom honey is not only great to eat, but a great wound healing application when applied topically.

Also in my box that I received from "The Honey Jar", was a variety bag of flavored honey sticks. Honey sticks are a great grab and go snack, or squeeze them into a hot or color drink, or squeeze them right in your mouth. They are not only a great healthy snack, but they are very refreshing on a hot day. You can also drizzle them on top of some yogurt, or ice cream, and don't forget they would be amazing over some oatmeal on a cold winter morning. "The Honey Jar", has some wonderful flavored honey sticks that they sell by the flavor or as a variety bag as I got. Every honey stick is equivalent to one teaspoon of honey. and calorie wise they are fantastic. All the honey sticks are also made with great natural ingredients for flavor. These convenient plastic straws from "The Honey Jar", are filled with pure gourmet flavors, that you get a great source of nutrition from. They are full of antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals. And they have a great shelf life to.
