Jenkins Jellies Review

From Jenkins Jellies, I received a lovely gift box today, filled with four of their fruit and pepper jellies. The company is owned by Hillary Danner, from Highland Park.

When she moved into her home, she had a drove of fruit and lemon trees in the back, that soon became her passion for preserving them. A few dozens later, and a few hit or miss's, her jellies began to sell. And now from her trees, to our kitchens, you can enjoy these peppery delights, that come in many pepper, fruit pairings.

Let me tell you what I did for incorporating these fruit and pepper jellies into my evening, of a special celebration with my family.

For someone's special birthday, that is near and dear to our heart's, a few family and friends gathered for a 18th birthday. I decided since everyone loves a little heat in their dish's, that I would use each flavor in a yummy spread.

First up was a nice cheese board, with meats and fruits, and nuts, and a mix of crackers, and the Jenkins Jellies, Hell Fire, the original 7 pepper jelly. It paired beautiful with cheese, and the crackers, even the fruits on the cheese board. This artisan jelly has organic hot peppers straight from the garden that include, jalapeno, habanero, red, green, yellow bells, chili's and cayenne pepper. You get a sweet, a heat and a savory taste in each bite, that is just nectar to your lips. You don't have to just stop at using it on a cheese board, how about some crepes, or a Christmas jelly roll up. If you like it sweet with heat, these products are great.

This women owned family business knows their peppers and jelly well. They make all their products in small batches, which gives you quality, and fresh authentic flavors. They are pure, organic, vegan, gluten free, and made in the U.S. There is no artificial anything in the products. These products have even been seen on the media by many and endorsed, like, Better Homes and Gardens, The Huffington Post, Goop, People Magazine, Los Angeles Times, Specialty Food Association; and endorsed by Gwyneth Paltrow, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Daphne Oz. So you know it's good! They thrill the palate, they are one hundred percent natural, and are very versatile. Any one on any diet, can enjoy these jelly treasures, with a little kick. These are not your peanut butter and jelly products. These are true gourmet artisan pepper jelly's that are just waiting to compliment your recipes.

It's not everyday you turn 18, and I wanted a spread to remember. And the next dish was a crostini, with ham, brie and Jenkins Jellies Guava Brava fruit and pepper jelly. The power of a great fruit pepper jelly paired with brie is always heavenly. And this one was no exception. There is a lot of flavor profile in this pepper jelly, from the hint of pear, the quince, to the honey and the seven spicy peppers. The pepper jelly as soon as you open the jar, is fragrant, and the texture super creamy. The ingredients are all natural as well, with organic sugar and at peak season fruits. You just want to grab a spoon and eat it all right out of the jar. But you will also enjoy it with meats, cheese, or as a marinade or dipping sauce. The balance of sweet and heat is in perfect harmony. And your taste buds, are going to have a party in your mouth.

The next appetizer was some bacon wrapped shrimp with Jenkins Jellies, Passion fruit, which was the glaze for all the wrapped shrimp. Perfect pairing, that not only had a exquisite taste, but a stunning look. The way that the fruit pepper jelly glazed the shrimp and bacon just made your mouth water looking at it. Again this pepper jelly is made with garden fresh jalapenos, habaneros, red and green peppers and chili's. It would make a great spread on a everything bagel, but why be ordinary, when you can use it in more of a gourmet menu. The aromatics are scrumptious, and really draw you in for a bite.

The main course was a nice thick salmon steaks, with Jenkins Jellies, fiery figs jelly as a glaze. With some cherry tomato's added of different colors, and the fiery fig jelly, it was a true gourmet dish. The figs bring the sweet, and the peppers bring the spice. The flavor profile that the figs bring are a little smoky with a nice molasses taste. You can use this as a dip, or as a glaze, be creative, and be a master chef in your own kitchen. The fiery fig jelly made a beautiful glaze for the top of the fish, and did not denigrate at all from the baking. Giving you a taste of the jelly in each bite. You will just fall in love at the recipes you can create with these products.
