Prissy's of Vidalia Review

 

If you love Vidalia onions, and Georgia peaches, you would love the products I got to use for my meals today. And if you have never tasted each, now is your chance.

The company is Prissy's of Vidalia. The company started in 1986 and has grown from Festivals, to our tables today. The products started with just the Vidalia onions, but then came peach salsa and Georgia Peach Preserves. Along with some pickled products as well. The company is still growing, and after tasting the products, they will have a very bright future. Prissy's of Vidalia, has created some extraordinary, elegant gourmet products, that look good, and taste even better. I had the opportunity a few years ago to visit Georgia and I fell in love. It's a place I hope to go back and visit soon. On the way home I purchased a ton of Georgia peach's. There is nothing in the world any better, than a Georgia peach. So I was excited to get cooking.

Up first was the jar of Prissy's of Vidalia onion and Georgia peach salsa. It is a fat free salsa as well as cholesterol free. The salsa has a nice color, and excellent flavor profile. Its, mellow, juicy, sweet, and you can just eat it all up. It's a combo salsa made with fresh peaches, Vidalia Onions, vinegar, red bell peppers, jalapeno peppers and other carefully selected spices. The jalapeno peppers don't over power the salsa but does give it a nice sophisticated kick, just enough to let you know, they are there. The Prissy's of Vidalia salsa is great as a dip or as a topping, but for me, I used it to totally coat my left over chicken pieces and make a nice sandwich, that I even topped with some peach chunks, and some shredded lettuce. It flavored the chicken, and just gave you a taste that was pure nectar to your lips. Very succulent!

The next was dinner, and I was so excited to try the next product from Prissy's of Vidalia, it was their Southern Bourbon Sweet Glaze. For that I made a side dish and a main dish. A real Southern meal!

I had a small spiral ham and used the Southern Bourbon Sweet Glaze to baste the ham as it cooked. This is some what of a new product for Prissy's, and its unbelievably exquisite. You get the saltiness of the soy, and wonderful sweetness from brown sugar. The flavor is so delectable. It is a very versatile sauce that you can use in so many ways, as a glaze, to baste with, or add into your favorite dish as a added ingredient. A really divine sauce that made my ham fantastic.

For a side dish I used the same Bourbon sauce for some Southern sweet potato's. My dinner was a true Southern meal for sure. With my recipe and the Bourbon Sweet glaze, the juice it made was so mouth watering, you could skip eating the sweet potato's and just drink the sauce. Absolutely flavorsome!
