It is related to a more familiar product we know as beef jerky. However they are both spiced, and dried meats that have typical ingredients. Biltong is air dried for up to a week, by hanging on hooks. It can be a meat of beef, poultry, fish, or game. Biltong also requires vinegar and salt and spices to help cure and marinate the meat before drying. And what you end up with is the most delicious treat!
