Chilau Food Product Review

Many years ago I lived in Florida, but never heard much about Tampa. That is not until today.

I received several bottles of, Chilau seafood sauce, and had no idea the history behind it. It is from the Tampa Bay district, in a area where, Cuban, Italian and Spanish and African American immigrants arrived, in the cigar capital of the world in the 1920's.

From the waters, blue crabs were very plentiful, and other seafood as well. This is where a little known dish came to be, called Cangrejo Enchilado, which in English is crab stew. Over time the dish got shortened to, Crab Chilau.

This so happens to be the products I got today, four bottles of seafood sauce, from the Tampa tradition, called Chilau.

Chilau foods founder is, Michael Anderson, and you can read all about his journey and his families journey, to the wonderful products he produces today. From Sunday dinners to our tables today, these seafood sauces are a great addition to your kitchen staples. With that being said, and now warm weather upon us, my house today was all about some great seafood dish's. And the star ingredient was the Chilau Food, seafood sauces.

First up for dinner was a gumbo, and it included, chicken, shrimp, and some spicy sausage. And added into the broth a half of the bottle of, Chilau Foods. gumbo seafood sauce. Chilau 11th Avenue Gumbo as it says, was the base for my seafood gumbo. And it was all the flavor I needed to add. It gave my gumbo a nice fresh taste, and a true Southern flavor. The bottle contains a wonderful mixture of herbs and spices, that are in a tomato base sauce. All the flavor profile you need for your dish is in the jar, and includes, Water, Tomato Paste, Spices, Sea Salt, Granulated Onion, Granulated Garlic, Cayenne Chile Powder, De Arbol Chile Powder, Lemon Juice (lemon juice from concentrate, lemon oil), Turbinado Sugar, Distilled Vinegar, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Natural Flavors(custom blend of spice extract), Sassafras Leaves. Chilau Foods, gumbo seafood sauce is all natural and gluten free. You get that Gulf coast flavor in every bit of you take of the gumbo. With a nice kick from cayenne, that is in perfect meld with all the other ingredients. As all the products are, the 11th Avenue Gumbo seafood sauce is very versatile. Use it for your soups, stews, marinades, even as a meat topping.

It was a blast cooking and eating, and the next dish was no exception. I made a nice pasta dish with linguine and shrimp, and some of Chilau seafood sauce, Florida citrus. It was the perfect sauce for my pasta dish. It's nice to have a product that has all the flavor enhancers you will need for your recipe. The ingredients that gave my pasta and shrimp dish such flavor, included, Water, Tomato Paste, Orange Juice Concentrate, Spices, Sea Salt, Granulated Onion, Granulated Garlic, Cayenne Chile Powder, De Arbol Chile Powder, Lemon Juice (lemon juice from concentrate, lemon oil), Turbinado Sugar, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Natural Flavor (custom blend of spice extract). Not only do you get a luscious flavor, but a little kick from the cayenne, and a stunning color as well. You truly get the essence of coastal Florida taste with this citrus seafood sauce. You can use it for many recipes, especially those with a Caribbean flair. And if you want, add some for in a night cap of a bloody Mary, for a nice unique flavored drink. It's just has the most amazing flavor.

You can't have a seafood feast, and not include a crab boil. And for the flavor enhancer, I used, Chilau Foods original seafood sauce. It has a perfect blend of spices and herbs that consist of, Water, Tomato Paste, Spices, Sea Salt, Granulated Onion, Granulated Garlic, Cayenne Chile Powder, De Arbol Chile Powder, Lemon Juice (lemon juice from concentrate, lemon oil), Turbinado Sugar, Distilled Vinegar, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Natural Flavor (custom blend of spice extract). It is the perfect base for many types of recipes, like soups, toppings, chowders, and even a good dip. The flavor profile is intense, sweet, tangy, and has a nice kick.

The last dish for the evening, was a nice big dish of lobster mac and cheese, made with, Chilau foods, boil bomb. And the taste was the bomb as well. It was a velvety smooth luscious dish, full of flavor. This product as all the others, are vegan and vegetarian friendly, with zero fat. It is a stunning liquid of seafood boil gold.
