Opal's Candies Product Review

If you love peanuts and nuts, you are going to love these confections, from Opal's Candies. Located in Greensboro, NC, I get to taste these treasures and share the experience with you.

The way these nuts and peanuts are made frosted or in a brittle comes from a family recipe, that comes from, Opal's family. From her retirement, Opal now gives you the opportunity to try her delicious candies, old ones and new ones. All the products are made in small batch's, this ensures freshness and quality. And still brings you that homemade taste.

Let's get started!

The first thing I made this morning, was a nice moist banana cake loaded with frosted walnuts, from Opal's Candies. You can eat these tiny treasure straight from the bag, or incorporate them into a recipe of your choice. However you choose to try them, they are a true delight. You can taste the love and home made goodness in every frosted walnut. They not only make a great snack, but a great hold me over in between meals. The ingredients are real, and natural, walnuts, sugar, corn syrup, cinnamon, water, and vanilla extract. All coated and covering some great size walnuts.

With, Opal's Candies, fried peanuts, I made a tasty smoothie and added some peanut butter and chocolate drizzle. Opal's Candies, makes these Southern fried peanuts with peanuts, peanut oil, safflower seed oil, salt, and a anti caking agent. When ground up into a smoothie, you get a nice salty peanut flavored drink. Eating them out the bag, they are even more delicious. A nice fried peanut, with the perfect amount of salt. The taste is similar to your roasted peanut, but with a nice hint of fried flavor. It even has a way of tenderizing the peanut. Just delicious.

How about some homemade maple ice cream loaded with frosted cashews. We are not talking about tiny cashews, these are a good size. And combined with maple ice cream, it is just heavenly. Made also in small batch's using, cashews, sugar, corn syrup, cinnamon, water, and vanilla extract. Not only are they a great addition to your recipes, but make a wonderful snack. Feeling hungry, grab some, and they will hold you over until your meal. The coating is so perfect, not overly sweet nor salty.

Do like heat, how about some of Opal's Candies, Jalapeno Peanut Brittle. Made with simple yummy ingredients like, peanuts, sugar, corn syrup, water, jalapeno powder, bicarbonate soda, butter, sweet cream and salt. Each bite gives you a sweet heat, that doesn't burn all the way down. There is nothing artificial and they are gluten free. They make the perfect snack any time of the day.

The next product from, Opal's Candies, was the frosted pecans. And for that I made a nice noodle kugel. You would not believe the size of these pecans, they are huge. And perfectly coasted with the same mixture as all the frosted nuts. If your looking for a guilt free boost during the day, grab the bag and snack away. You can add some of these frosted pecans to your recipes, but also top your cereals, and oatmeal as well. The ideas are endless.

Another treat from, Opal's Candies, was the old fashion cashew brittle. This is always made to order, keeping it fresh and in great quality. All Opal's brittles are made with the same simple fine ingredients, that you will enjoy and share with loved ones and friends. A nice crunchy brittle that starts to melt away in your mouth leaving you with a good size cashew nut.

The brittle from, Opal's Candies, continues on, with her old fashion peanut brittle. Each piece is loaded with so many peanuts, you get more then one in each bite. Opal's Candies, old fashion peanut brittle, is a true Southern confection, just as she. And is still made today, just as Opal would have done herself. A nice gluten free snack, that anyone can enjoy. All the brittle would also make wonderful gifts.

The next brittle from, Opal's Candies, is the old fashion pecan brittle. Each piece is also loaded, with a good size pecan. Then coated with the special butter, creamy sweet coating. This is the recipe that was enjoyed by family and friends of Opal. Every bite is a party on your palate, and taste so divine. This brittle is also a made to order product, and you will want to order it again and again.

The last product from, Opal's Candies, was some frosted almonds. A good size almond coated with the same yummy ingredients. To use these I topped a nice spinach salad, that had apples, pears, cranberries in it as well. It was nice to have a nice sweet crunch to the salad. These frosted almonds are great after a work out, as a snack, or as a boost. Add them to your recipes, eat them out the bag, it's your choice. Either way, you are in for a great treat.
