Harbor Sweets Product Review

 

Gathering around tonight, for a sweet treat party with family. And the treats are going to be even better with products sent to me from, Harbor Sweets Chocolate.

Harbor Sweets has been in business for over forty years. They make several product lines that are made with what else, their handmade chocolates. This even includes some delicious cocoa Sante, a line of their hot cocoa mixes, that is made with organic cocoa. Harbor Sweets really connects not only with their customers, but those they support in the community, like their neighborhood workers that whom are twenty year veterans. The company has one Golden rule "treat others with honor and respect as you yourself would want to be treated". Something we could all learn from!

With that in mind, let me share with you our evening of not only making some yummy desserts and drinks, but how great they turned out using products from, Harbor Sweets handmade chocolates, located in Salem, Ma.

First up since it is raining, we started the evening with a nice hot glass of hot cocoa, with Harbor Sweets, nor'easter hot cocoa mix. Harbor Sweet hot cocoa is a instant mix that has the taste of natural vanilla and amber malt. The cocoa that the mix is made of is organic, and to make it is super easy. Every sip reminds you of a snowy day during your child hood when school was called off. Sitting by a warm heater, with a cup of hot cocoa and watching your favorite show. The cocoa that Harbor Sweets use's comes from farms in the Dominican Republic and South America. And when you taste it, you taste the love and care that went into the productions.

Next up the kids and I made brownie sundae's, using Harbor Sweets dark chocolate sauce on top of the vanilla ice cream. This is a versatile sauce, that you can use for many recipes. From milkshakes, to warming it up to pour as I did on some ice cream. It has a extraordinary decadent taste of rich dark chocolate. This is one sauce you will want to have on hand in your own pantry. And if you want, all the products would make wonderful gifts!

Taking a small break, I decided to try, Harbor Sweets, parisien cocoa in a smoothie. Talk about a gourmet product, this cocoa mix is full of vanilla and dark chocolate flakes. Again it is a instant cocoa that you just add water, stir and enjoy. The finished product is rich and very creamy, and will satisfy anyone's chocolate craving. You can drink the cocoa or use it in recipes other then a drink, which I will do later.

As I said, cocoa mix is not just for drinking, you can add it in your recipes and still enjoy the same great taste. For Harbor Sweets, azteca hot cocoa, I made some yummy cupcakes and icing including the azteca cocoa. You get a deep rich chocolate taste in every bite you take. As with the others, this is a instant hot cocoa with vanilla, cinnamon, and chipotle pepper. So you get a nice kick mixed with chocolate. And even adding it to make cupcakes and icing was very uniquely yummy.

In the variety box of cocoa mixes, was another yummy cocoa flavor called Harbor Sweets, Kashmir spice. A cocoa mix with cinnamon, cardamom and ginger. And with a packet of this mix, I made some really heavenly tasting brownies. The flavor and taste was amazing delicious. And the aromatics while the brownies were baking, filled the entire house.

For my grandson, I made a sea salt caramel sauce topped vanilla milk shake with Harbor Sweets, sauce. The sea salt caramel sauce is heavenly, one of the best I have tasted. And coating the milkshake glass and top of the shake with it, was mouthwatering. This is another versatile sauce that you can not only use as a dessert topping, but add to other recipes as well. You won't be disappointed at all!

To end the evening, I made some nice toffee, and topped it with, Harbor Sweets, sweet sloops ice cream topping. Just goes to show you how versatile these products are. Sweet Sloops ice cream toppings transforms any dessert into a master piece. You can use it for a variety of recipes, toppings, to baked yummies.
