Halloween Eye of Newt Eggs

Bubble, bubble, bubble. Work and anguish. This appetizer is well-known and popular, but I've added my own spin to it. It's deviled eggs shaped to appear like reptile eyeballs. At my Halloween party, it was a big success with the youngsters. At your celebration, keep an eye on how quickly they disappear!

Ingredient Checklist

12 eggs

1 tablespoon sweet pickle relish

1 tablespoon mayonnaise

1 pinch celery salt

1 tablespoon prepared yellow mustard

2 drops green food coloring, or as needed

1 (6 ounce) can sliced black olives, drained

Put all of the eggs in a big pot and arrange them in a single layer on the bottom. Fill the container with just enough cold water to cover the eggs. Bring to a boil, then remove from the heat and set aside for 15 minutes. Rinse the eggs in cold water or add some ice to the water and allow to cool fully.

Take the yolks from the eggs and set them aside. Combine the relish, mayonnaise, celery salt, mustard, and food coloring in a mixing bowl. Place the egg whites on a serving dish and spoon the mixture into them. Using the spoon, round the top of the filling. To make the center of the eye, place one olive slice on each yolk. As a final touch, dab a small amount of mayonnaise in the center of the olive.
