If summer had a signature drink, it would be this. My Homemade Peach Sangria is light, fruity, not too sweet, and impossibly refreshing. It's the kind of recipe you make once for a backyard barbecue and then everyone asks for it every single time after.
What
I love about this version is that it lets ripe peaches shine. No heavy syrups,
just good wine, fresh fruit, and a little sparkle.
Why
You'll Love It
1.
Make-Ahead Magic: The longer it sits, the better it gets. Perfect for
entertaining.
2. White Wine Base: Lighter and more peach-friendly than red
sangria.
3. Customizable: Swap in nectarines, add berries, make it bubbly —
it's very forgiving.
Ingredients
| Serves 6-8
- 1 bottle (750ml)
dry white wine — Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio work beautifully
- 3 ripe peaches,
pitted and sliced (plus extra for garnish)
- 1 orange, thinly
sliced into rounds
- 1/2 cup peach
nectar or peach juice
- 1/4 cup peach
schnapps or brandy (optional, but adds depth)
- 2 tbsp honey or
simple syrup, to taste
- 1 cup sparkling
water or prosecco, chilled, to top
- Fresh mint sprigs
- Ice, for serving
How
to Make It
1.
Macerate the fruit: In a large glass pitcher, add the peach slices and
orange rounds. Drizzle with honey/syrup and gently muddle with a spoon. Let it
sit for 10 minutes to release juices.
2.
Mix: Pour
in the white wine, peach nectar, and peach schnapps/brandy if using. Stir
gently.
3.
Chill: Cover
and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, ideally 4-6 hours. This is when the magic
happens and the wine becomes infused with all that peach flavor.
4.
Finish & Serve: Right before serving, add ice and top with sparkling
water or prosecco for a little fizz. Garnish with fresh mint.
Serve
in glasses with a few peach slices in each one — everyone loves getting the
boozy fruit at the bottom.
Tips
from my kitchen:
- Use ripe but still
firm peaches so they don't get mushy.
- If your peaches
aren't super sweet, add an extra tablespoon of honey.
- For a
non-alcoholic version, use white grape juice + peach nectar + sparkling
water — still delicious!
This
pitcher never lasts long on my patio table. It's sunshine, sweet peaches, and
summer in every sip.
