Steak Night, Elevated: Perfectly Cooked Air Fryer Steak!

Who says you need a grill or a cast-iron skillet to get a perfectly cooked steak? While those methods are fantastic, sometimes you want a quick, easy, and virtually foolproof way to enjoy a delicious piece of beef. Enter: the Air Fryer Steak!

I know, it sounds a little unconventional, but trust me on this one. The air fryer works wonders on steak, creating a beautifully seared exterior with a tender, juicy interior that rivals more traditional cooking methods. It's incredibly convenient, requires minimal cleanup, and is perfect for when you're craving a steak without all the fuss.

The key is a good cut of steak, a simple but effective seasoning, and not overcrowding your air fryer. The circulating hot air creates that lovely crust, locking in all the delicious juices. Whether you prefer it medium-rare or medium, the air fryer can deliver.

So, if you're looking to shake up your steak routine or just want a super easy way to get a great meal on the table, give this air fryer steak a try. You might just be surprised at how delicious it turns out!

Perfectly Cooked Air Fryer Steak Recipe

Yields: 1-2 servings (depending on steak size) Prep time: 5 minutes Cook time: 12-18 minutes (depending on thickness and desired doneness)

Ingredients:

  • 1 (1-inch thick) steak (such as ribeye, New York strip, or sirloin), about 8-10 oz
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or avocado oil
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika (optional, but adds great flavor)
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp butter (optional, for finishing)
  • Fresh rosemary or thyme sprigs (optional, for aromatics)

Instructions:

1.  Prep Steak: Pat the steak completely dry with paper towels. This helps with searing. Rub both sides of the steak with olive oil.

2.  Season Steak: In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika (if using), salt, and black pepper. Sprinkle the seasoning generously over both sides of the steak, pressing it gently to adhere.

3.  Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.

4.  Cook Steak: Carefully place the seasoned steak in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Do not overcrowd; cook in batches if necessary. If desired, you can place a sprig of rosemary or thyme on top of the steak for added aroma.

5.  Flip & Finish:

o   For Medium-Rare (internal temp 130-135°F): Air fry for 6-7 minutes per side.

o   For Medium (internal temp 135-140°F): Air fry for 7-8 minutes per side.

o   For Medium-Well (internal temp 140-145°F): Air fry for 8-9 minutes per side.

o   Always use a meat thermometer for accuracy.

6.  Rest & Serve: Once cooked to your desired doneness, carefully remove the steak from the air fryer. If using, place the tablespoon of butter on top of the hot steak. Tent it loosely with foil and let it rest for at least 5-10 minutes. Resting allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring a tender and juicy steak. Slice against the grain and serve immediately.

Enjoy your perfectly cooked, hassle-free air fryer steak!
