Mis' Rubin's Magic Seasonings Review

This evening, the family is going to gather around the picnic table, and we are going to grill dinner with some fantastic products. The company Mis' Rubin's, sent over four of their magic seasoning spices. The company is based out of Birmingham Alabama, so I am looking forward to making some magic myself on the grill!

Mis'Rubin's, has a very deep history as far as their company goes. Mis' Rubin's Seasonings is the continuity of an American Dream team. Rubin and Julia Hanan who arrived in Montgomery , Alabama, at the beginning of the 1920s, ready to make a new life for themselves. Rubin emigrated from Greece and did not waste any time adjusting to life in the States. They integrated their heritage into their food company. After launching a meat market named "Penny Benefit," the couple struggled at first to differentiate themselves from larger stores in the city. They soon found the solution, the tasty, mouth watering seasonings that Julia invented. At the end of the day, her exclusive combinations of spices were what attracted local companies. Once Penny Profit closed the doors, residents were fearful that they might miss what had been a cherished Montgomery custom. Black Magic and White Magic, as they called the seasonings, were in strong demand. The recipes have been handed down to the family, but have not been made available until recently. Since then, their seasonings have received a variety of prizes, including Taste of the South Magazine's Food 50 Chart. In recognition of the role played by Penny Profit in Montgomery's history, Mis' Rubin's Seasonings are featured in the Governor's Mansion and State Capitol's gift shops. Robert and Ashley Landers are now the proud parents of Mis' Rubin Seasonings and are committed to making magic open to everyone and holding the custom alive.

Now with all this rich history, on how much magic these seasonings bring, I am ready and hyped to start preparing my food for the grill.

While the main part of our grill feast was slow cooking, (the Brisket), I grilled some shrimp wrapped in bacon, and seasoned it with Mis' Rubin's Fish Magic Spicy Seasoning. Not only did this seasoning give it flavor, it gave it color. Before and after wrapping the shrimp with bacon, I used the Fish Magic Spicy Seasoning as a dry rub. After you taste the food with this Fish Magic seasoning on it, you can see why its been a cabinet staple in homes for over 85 years. Mis' Rubin's Fish Magic Spicy Seasoning, gave the shrimp a gourmet taste, like we we're eating at a five star seafood restaurant. The taste it gave the bacon wrapped shrimp, was savory and spicy. The balance in the ingredients, was perfect, it did not take away or overpower the bacon wrapped shrimp. Definitely, this Fish Magic Spicy Seasoning, made the bacon wrapped shrimp,a mouth watering gourmet delight. All the ingredients in the jar are natural spices, and even has a rice concentrate that will prevent caking. I can see Mis' Rubin's Fish Magic Spicy Seasoning, not only on grilled seafood, but in a seafood boil, or even in tuna for a tuna sandwich.

Now brisket takes some time, before it's a perfection. So that everyone did not starve, I grilled up some burgers and used Mis' Rubin's Creole Magic All Purpose Seasoning. This magic seasoning has also been in Montgomery Al. kitchens for over 80 years. It definitely gave the burgers some real magic, with taste from the deep South. I not only incorporated it into the burger mixture, while grilling I sprinkled some on the top. So far it is safe to say, no matter how much you use of these Magic Seasonings, it does not over power any recipe. The taste is Southern Creole for sure, it’s a little spicy, a little sweet, and tangy all at the same time. It also gave a deep rich color to my burgers, and it really invited you in to for a big bite. This seasoning from Mis' Rubin's, Creole Magic, would also be great in a gumbo, or on some type of seafood. And if you like spicy cornbread, I would throw a few pinch's in.

For a side dish, I grilled some veggie skewers, and for taste and flavor used Mis' Rubin's White Magic All Purpose Seasoning. When you look into the jar it kind of resembles a salt combo. The only seasoning for the veggie skewers, was the White Magic All Purpose Seasoning. I coated them before putting them on the skewers, and the seasoning held on until the end of the grilling process. The taste definitely was magical. It brought the flavor over the top, and when kids eat veggies, you know you did something right. Adding the Mis' Rubin's White Magic All Purpose Seasoning was truly a great addition to all the veggies, on the skewers. I would definitely try this not just on veggies, but in a salad, on a burger, or even in a chicken dish.

I had a beautiful brisket, slow cooking on the grill, and before doing so I totally covered it with Mis' Rubin's Black Magic Steak Seasoning. When the brisket was done, and rested for twenty minutes, it was time to taste. The Black Magic Steak Seasoning, was so unique. It flavored the brisket beautifully, giving it a tasty blend of spices, that brought out the natural taste of the brisket. The meat was moist, and bursted with flavor in your mouth. The Mis' Rubin's Black Magic Steak Seasoning was the only covering, nothing else was put on the meat, so all the flavor and taste was from the steak seasoning itself. Mis' Rubin's Black Magic Steak Seasoning is, gluten free, has no msg, and the best part low in sodium. The taste can only be described as phenomenal! And when I tell you I coated the brisket, it was totally covered, so I was taking a big chance with taste, that truly paid off in the end. You surely don't need to be a grill master to use the Black Magic Steak Rub, all you need is a jar of it. Mis' Rubin's Black Magic Steak Seasoning has only the finest of ingredients, that you can use with confidence. It has herbs, spices, and a very special charcoal flavor, that brought out the best flavor of the brisket. Now, this Black Magic Seasoning would also be great to try on a burger, or even a oven pot roast. What you get after is a true masterpiece.

Red Beards Product Review

From Huntington Beach, CA, I received a gift box of hot sauces and a dry rub, from the company Red Beards.

RedBeards has been producing their products, for relatives and friends for over 12 years. It all started when a friend of the family brought over five pounds of Habanero peppers. The sauce that Red Beards. came up with has heat but not, the kind that will kill you in the middle of tasting it on your food. After perfecting the recipe over a ten year period, Red Beards was ready for distribution.

And that's just what I did, I made three dish's with the products, and here they are.

As a appetizer for our meal, I made some meatballs in sauce. For the sauce I mixed some strawberry preserves and some of Red Beards 2X habanero hot sauce together. Then coated the meatballs in the sauce, they came together on point. Now as far as the heat for Red Beards 2X hot habanero sauce, they really brought it. The 2X habanero hot sauce has a appealing fragrance to it. At first you don't get the kick from the habanero, but don't be fooled, its coming. It hides behind the that fragrance, that you get when you first bite into your food. Then all at once you get the taste and flavor of a fire roasted habanero, and it pleasantly lingers for a bit. The balance of the texture, and the ingredients are all aligned perfectly. For a heat lover, this is the perfect hot sauce to eat everyday, but for others the heat might just be to much. The combo of my preserves, and the Red Beards 2X habanero really worked to coat my meatballs. But I can see using this 2X hot sauce as a marinade, as a condiment, or even in pulled pork.

Next up was some baked tilapia, with the Red Beards No.8 dry rub, I used as a coating for the fish. I thought the No.8 dry rub would meld perfectly with the Tilapia, since the fish already is sweet, and mild. And it was a perfect idea. The No.8 dry rub gave the fish a earthy taste, with a kick. The crust of the Tilapia with the No.8 dry rub came out nice and crisp. Since Red Beards No.8 dry rub already has herb seasonings in it, I did not need to add any additional seasoning to the fish. Red Beards, No.8 dry rub is gluten free, no preservatives, no artificial colors, or flavors. Making it a nice homemade healthy rub. The No.8 dry rub just added amazing flavor to the Tilapia, it really complimented it perfectly. Red Beards No.8 dry rub would also be great for just about any type of food. Use it in a sauce, as a marinade, or as a condiment, what ever you choose, the flavor and taste will be amazing.

Thinking out the box, I wanted to incorporate Red Beards Jalapeno hot sauce into dessert. So what I came up with was a spicy hot chocolate sauce for pound cake. Again, it worked! Red Beards Jalapeno hot sauce melded just right in the chocolate, giving it a tangy sweet kick. It's made with the same ingredients, no gluten, preservatives, and no artificial coloring or flavors. This sauce was so good, you just wanted to pick it up and drink it. The taste of Red Beards Jalapeno hot sauce, brings to the table real flavors of a Louisiana style hot sauce. I can really see some crawfish for dinner with the left over Jalapeno hot sauce, for sure! This was a perfect pairing in chocolate, but would be great with fish, eggs, or even just a plain condiment for a grilled burger.

RedBeards, has so many great products to choose from. And if your interested, please go visit their website. You'll find a ton of information, including some wonderful recipe ideas.
