Base (Mixed Berry):
- 1 cup frozen
mixed berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
- 1/2 ripe banana
(fresh or frozen)
- 1/2 cup milk
(dairy or non-dairy)
- Optional
additions: 1 tablespoon flax seeds, 1 scoop vanilla protein powder, a
spoonful of Greek yogurt
- Fun Toppings
(Get Creative!):
- Sliced kiwi
(for ears or decorative patterns)
- Blueberries
(for eyes or polka dots)
- Raspberries
(for noses or colorful accents)
- Mandarin orange
segments (for sunshine rays)
- Banana slices
(for faces, stars, or moons)
- Chia seeds,
granola, coconut flakes, sprinkles
- A drizzle of
honey or maple syrup
Instructions:
1.
Blend Your Smoothie Base:
- For the Yellow
(Mango-Pineapple) Bowl: Combine the frozen mango, frozen
pineapple, banana, and milk in a blender. If using, add chia seeds,
protein powder, or spinach. Blend on high until completely smooth and
creamy. If it's too thick, add a tiny splash more milk; if too thin, add
more frozen fruit.
- For the Purple
(Mixed Berry) Bowl: Repeat the process with the frozen mixed berries,
banana, and milk. Add flax seeds, protein powder, or Greek yogurt if
desired. Blend until smooth.
2.
Pour into Bowls:
- Carefully pour
each vibrant smoothie mixture into separate bowls. These are your blank
canvases!
3.
Unleash Your Creativity with Toppings!
- This is where
the fun really begins! Arrange your chosen toppings to create fun faces,
suns, flowers, or any design your child (or inner child!) can imagine.
- For a
"Sunshine Face": Use mandarin orange segments around
the edge for sun rays. Place two blueberries for eyes, a raspberry for a
nose, and a thin banana slice for a smile. A slice of kiwi can be a funky
ear!
- For a
"Monster Face": Use kiwi slices for big eyes,
blueberries for pupils, and banana slices for teeth.
- For a
"Rainbow": Arrange different colored fruits in lines across
the bowl.
- Sprinkle with
granola, chia seeds, coconut flakes, or a few colorful sprinkles for extra
texture and visual appeal.
- Add a drizzle of
honey or maple syrup if a little extra sweetness is desired.
4.
Serve Immediately & Enjoy!
- Grab a spoon and
dig into your delicious and artful creation right away while it's still
cold and thick.
Pro
Tip:
For an even thicker, almost ice cream-like consistency, use only frozen fruit
and very little liquid. You might need to use the tamper attachment on your
blender or pause and stir a few times.
