I adore pizza in any shape or form, and French bread in any form. Mix the two, and you're left with one powerful meal on your plate. Whenever the French bread gets drizzled with olive oil and dotted with garlic powder before baking, it becomes extremely crispy and far more delicious than normal.
INGREDIENTS
1 loaf of French bread, cut lengthwise and in half
Jar of your favorite marinara sauce
Olive oil
Dried oregano
Garlic powder
Dried red pepper flakes
Mozzarella pearls
Red onions
Fresh basil
All to your taste and desired amounts.
Set the oven to 425°F. Using parchment paper, line a large
baking sheet. Set up every single piece of French bread on parchment paper, and
cut side up. Brush with a thin layer of olive oil and season liberally with
garlic powder and dried oregano. Cook for five minutes. Take away the French
bread from the oven and apply a layer of marinara sauce over each one.
Distribute with red onions, then top with mozzarella pearls equally and
decorate with julienned basil. If wanted, top with additional red pepper flakes.
Return to the oven for five to seven minutes, till the cheese is melted.
