RED ENCHILADA SAUCE




 In approximately fifteen minutes, you can make this Simple Red Enchilada Sauce. This is faster than going to the shop to get any!

 

It is created with only a few basic ingredients that you're likely to have on hand, plus it's also more tasty and healthier than canned!

 

If you don't have any tomato paste, 3 tablespoons of tomato sauce will be enough.

 

3 Tbsp olive oil

3 Tbsp flour

1 Tbsp chili powder

1 tsp ground cumin

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp dried oregano

3/4 tsp salt

1/2 tsp ground black pepper

2 Tbsp tomato paste

2 cups chicken broth

1 tsp apple cider vinegar

 

In a bowl, combine the flour and spices.

Preheat a large saucepan over medium heat with the olive oil. Once heated, add the spice combination and simmer for 1-2 minutes.

Add the tomato paste, then gradually add the chicken broth, stirring each time.

Bring to a boil and cook for 5–7 minutes, or until slightly thickened. (It will become thicker as it cools.)

Take from the heat and add the apple cider vinegar.

Ready for use!
