Ingredients:
4 large green tomatoes, sliced into 1/2-inch thick rounds
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup cornmeal

1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
In a shallow dish, combine the 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1
teaspoon salt, and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper.
Dip each tomato slice into the flour mixture, then dredge in
the buttermilk, and finally coat in the cornmeal mixture.
Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
Fry the tomato slices in the hot oil for about 2-3 minutes per
side, or until golden brown.
Remove the fried green tomatoes from the oil and drain on
paper towels.
Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce.
Tips:
You can use any type of green tomato for this recipe.
If you don't have buttermilk, you can use milk or cream.
You can also add other ingredients to the cornmeal mixture,
such as grated Parmesan cheese or chopped herbs.
Fried green tomatoes are best served hot.
