If
you can't get to Disney, bring Disney to you, with this great copykat recipe of
their fried pickles. And on the side, some really creamy dipping sauce.
Simple
Ingredient list:
Pickle
spears
All-purpose
flour
Panko
bread crumbs
Grated
Parmesan cheese, optional
Egg
Vegetable
oil for frying
Mayonnaise
Plain
yogurt
Garlic
powder
Lemon
juice
Fresh
dill
Fresh
parsley
Recipe
for Fried Pickle Spears
Using
paper towels, dry the pickle spears.
In
a small dish, combine the flour and salt.
In
a small dish, combine breadcrumbs and grated parmesan.
Beat
the egg in a shallow tub.
Flour-coat
the pickles. Dip the floured pickles in the beaten egg.
Turn
the pickles in the breadcrumbs to completely cover them. Place the breaded
pickle spears on a wire rack to settle.
Repeat
for the rest of the pickle spears.
Preheat
the oil to 375°F.
Fry
a few pickles at a time. On paper towels, drain the fried pickles. If
preferred, garnish the fried pickles with chopped parsley. In a shallow dish,
combine the mayonnaise, yogurt, garlic powder, and lemon juice. Mix in the
parsley and dill. To fully mix, stir all together. Or ranch dipping sauce,
serve fried pickle spears.
