ANY restaurant dish will be put to shame by
this Chicken Carbonara! At its finest, indulge in comfort food. Cream, eggs,
Parmesan cheese, bacon, and peas are combined in this Italian pasta dish.
Possibly the greatest pasta dish on the ENTIRE EARTH! The feedback on this dish
has been AMAZING!! Incredible taste and true Italian comfort meal! You MUST
keep this recipe on hand. Ideal for a fast evening supper or simple
entertaining!
Ingredients
4 chicken breast, marinated, grilled and
sliced
12 oz pack of bacon, diced small
1 onion, diced small
3 cloves minced garlic
4 eggs
1 cup grated parmesan
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp Black Pepper
1/2 cup of frozen peas
16 oz pasta, cooked al dente with 1/2 cup
pasta water reserved
Fry the bacon until it is extremely crispy.
Remove the bacon and set it aside. Remove all except 2 tbsp of the bacon fat
from the pan. Sauté the onions in the leftover bacon oil for 5 minutes over
medium heat. Cook for 1 minute further, stirring frequently, after adding the
garlic. Place aside. Place the pasta in a pot of boiling water and cook until
al dente, as directed on the package. While the pasta is boiling, whisk
together the eggs, Parmesan cheese, heavy cream, salt, and pepper in a separate
bowl until smooth.
When the pasta is done, save 1/2 cup of the
pasta water before draining and re-entering it into the boiling pot. While the
spaghetti is still hot, slowly sprinkle in half of the egg mixture, stirring
constantly. The sauce should thicken and coat the pasta. Add the frozen peas,
bacon, and sautéed onion/garlic after half of the sauce has been added. Finish
by adding the sauce and stirring until everything is mixed. Then, to aid with consistency,
add the saved 1/2 cup pasta water. Toss in the grilled chicken and serve!
