Fried
Cabbage with Onions and Bacon is a simple eight-ingredient meal that combines
cabbage, onions, and bacon in complete sync.

to prepare | 20-25 minutes to cook | 6 servings
1 head of
cabbage chopped.
1 Onion chopped.
2 tsp.
Minced garlic
5 Strips of
bacon cooked and crumbled.
Reserved
bacon grease
½ tsp. Onion
powder
½ tsp.
Garlic powder
Salt and
pepper to taste.
Prepare the
bacon and let it cool. Keep the bacon grease aside.
Cook the
onion in the bacon fat in a deep side pot or pan until tender.
Sauté the
garlic for 30 seconds more in the saucepan.
Reduce the
heat to medium-low and stir in the cabbage. Cover after stirring. Cook until
the cabbage is tender.
Stir in the
garlic and onion powders, as well as salt and pepper to taste. Cook for another
2-3 minutes.
Serve with
the crumbled bacon on top of the cabbage.
