 Ingredients:

1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend for juiciness)

4 slices of bacon

4 hamburger buns

4 slices of smoked gouda cheese

Barbecue sauce

1 large onion, cut into rings

Lettuce

Tomato slices

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

Prepare the Patties:

Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and form into patties.

Season both sides with salt and pepper.

Cook the Bacon:

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon until crispy. Set aside on paper towels to drain.

Grill the Burgers:

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.

Grill the patties for about 4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.

In the last minute of cooking, add a slice of smoked gouda cheese on top of each patty to melt.

Crisp the Onion Rings:

Using the same skillet, fry the onion rings until they are golden and crispy.

Assemble the Burgers:

Toast the hamburger buns on the grill for a light crisp.

Spread barbecue sauce on the bottom bun, then add lettuce and tomato.

Place the cheese-topped patty on the tomato, add bacon, and top with crispy onion rings.

Add more barbecue sauce if desired, and cover with the top bun.
