Hilbert's Honey Co. Product Review

From a 4th generation honey producer, located in Northern Michigan, I will be making some yummy meals today with their "honey"! Hilbert's Honey Co. to be exact!

The company dates back to 1887, and is a family owned and operated business still today. The best part is they are working on a storefront, so visitors can come and enjoy their products.

But for me, trying them started today, and it all began with breakfast.

Candied bacon with Hilbert's honey and black pepper, was on everyone's plate. The honey Hilbert's sent over was a jar of their pure Michigan premium honey, a nice size 16oz jar of pure gold. Their honey is a raw, specialty honey, that has a ton of pollen and enzymes. Honey is one of the most versatile products there is. And so healthy for you. From cooking, to candles, to face and body products, it has benefits for you. The locally produced honey, Hilbert's sent over gave my candy bacon the best flavor. You can taste the love and care that went into production. The honey just had the most gorgeous color of amber gold, and the thickness just clung to the bacon perfectly. My bacon was sweet, with a hint of heat from the black pepper. The combo was a match made in the oven.

To set the mood for a nice dinner, Hilbert's also sent, a nice pure Michigan beeswax candle. Hilbert's beeswax candle is made and poured one hundred percent by hand. The beeswax candle is from the Amelia Collection, by Hilbert's. The aroma is refreshing and pure, and its going to last for hours. When you light the candle it will release negative ions, binding with toxins, and will remove them from the air. Really put me in a relaxing mood!

Dinner tonight was also a great hit, honey chicken thighs with garlic, made again with Hilbert's raw honey. This honey was finger licking nectar on the chicken. It stayed on the chicken so well, and when it was done I drizzled more honey on it. Right down to the bone, my chicken the flavor of the honey garlic mixture went. The main flavoring being the Hilbert's honey.

With still more honey in the jar, dessert was next. And I made everyone some loukoumades drizzled with what else, Hilbert's honey. Talk about a perfect finish for the night. The loukoumades were drenched in this delicious honey, giving them sweetness and a mouthwatering bite. You didn't mind the stickiness, the drizzle of Hilbert's honey on them was worth it.
