Mill City Roasting Co. Cafe Du Jour Coffee Product Review

One thing that is in my house everyday, all day, until bedtime, is a fresh pot of coffee.

Today I get to sample some sent over from, Mill City Roasting Company, Café DuJour coffee. The company is located in, Londonberry, NH and makes coffee that is always fresh roasted. Founder, Kevin Clay makes these delicious coffee blends, and has done so since 1978. From many jobs over the years, he ended up with making single origin coffee, and has done so since 1996, when Mill City Roasting was born. The mission, keep it simple and treat others right. Mill City now is the biggest operating specialty coffee roaster in the state of, New Hampshire. And after you brew a pot and sip it, you will understand why.

You can find a wealth of information on the website, especially about the, Mill City, sustainability promise.

The first pot I brewed, was from the bag of Café Du Jour, original Joe house blend. From opening the bag, to the final drip of brewing, it smelled amazing. And for a breakfast coffee, it was perfect. The bag from Café DuJour, is locally roasted, and is a ground blend of a medium roast coffee. A nice bag that is easy to reseal after being opened. The roast level is full city, and each sip has the profile of a sweet, fresh, full body of luscious coffee. It is smooth on the palate from start to finish. The original house blend went so well with a waffle breakfast, but will be wonderful to have some anytime of the day. The full city roast means that the coffee has hearty characteristics, and it truly does, a very memorable blend. Café DuJour, comes in four blends, whole bean, French drip, espresso, and drip. All with the same quality of flavor.

For dinner, I decided to use the ground coffee, for a nice crust on a pork tenderloin, and added a nice red wine cherry sauce to it as well. It was a dinner as good as a five star restaurant. The pork loin was so tasty, and the coffee was the perfect crust for it. The coffee added so much flavor and you just relished every bite. The Café DuJour house blend gave my pork loin the most aromatic flavor as it roasted in the oven, with a nice earthy taste. If you never made meat with a coffee crust, you don't know what you are missing.

The second bag of coffee, from Café DuJour, was Brown Sugar Cinnamon. A new flavor for me, and it sounded so sweet, I used it for a dessert coffee with some nice oatmeal cookies on the side. A perfect marriage of flavors! The Café DuJour is a medium roast coffee, that is ground and ready to drip brew. It is a well balanced coffee with sweet overtones, that are very luscious to the palate. The blend is made from one hundred percent Arabica beans, and is a special grade. It makes a wonderful treat in any time of the day, especially as a dessert coffee. Another idea would be to wake every one up in the morning from the aromatics, and serve with some nice iced cinnamon buns. A breakfast fit for any King or Queen.

Mill Roasting Company, has so many coffee options to choose from. There is coffee Java tree, coffee Café DuJour, and flavored coffee blends. They also offer, wholesale options as well as break room service.
