This is a first for me, to eat Macarons, and I am so excited to try a bit of each flavor. The box of, Les Macarons, By A Cacao Affair is stunning enough to pass on as a gift. Just add some ribbon or a bow, and the jems are ready to pass on. That's if you can let go of them.
The color of each LesMacarons, is so bright and stunning. Almost matching the flavor to the color.
If you have never tasted aMacarons, as I have not, let me tell you a little about them. They are a French sweet meringue based confection. Not to be confused with a Macaroon. This confections, is made up of two round, flat, almond flour based cookies, the infused with a filling such as a ganache or jam. It can vary in flavor and color.
The overall taste of a true is not overly sugary. The flavors are what you should be tasting. The almond flavor should not over power the confection as well. This French cookie is the work of a true, Pastry artist. The Macaron is a airy brownie like cookie cake, in the middle, with chewy edges. Light and delicate on your palate, with a favorable meringue filling.
The first in the box to taste, was a nice size Les Macarons, from By A Cacao Affair, of the flavor pistachio. A pretty pastel green with a chocolate filling. The confections is the perfect texture, with a amazing creamy filling, prominent in the flavor of Pistachio. A scrumptious, delight Macaron, and just the perfect size.
The next flavor and color was that of lemon. The color is as delicate as the Macaron itself. Bright and cheery, just calling you in for a bite. It is bursting with the flavor of lemon inside and out, but yet not overpowering. A little sweet, and a little tart, in a perfect balance.
Next to take a bite of was the flavor Oreo. Nothing like a hard Oreo cookie, it was soft where it needed to be, and chewy on the edge. A very delicious macaron, from, By A Cacao Affair. The filling taste like a Oreo cookie, but in a more refined way. These however are not for dunking into a glass of milk. They are to be savored by the palate, and enjoyed as a delicate confection. The flavor is deep an rich in chocolate.
Rose is the next flavor from, Les Macarons, By A Cacao Affair. Rose in color as well as in taste. A nice sweetness, and perfect textured Macaron. It is light and airy in both flavor and chew. The pretty pastel color is bright and cheerful, just to look at. Since rose is not a flavor in this case, you just close your eyes and imagine, smelling a dozen rose's. And you will get the flavor by eye sight.
Moving on, was the amazing Les Macarons, hazelnut flavor. The flavor again was spot on, with a nice chocolate to hazelnut flavoring. The hazelnut really shines on your palate, and would curb your chocolate craving, in a decadent way. The overall flavor is rich, yet not over sweet.
Chocolate is what was next in the box, and this was so luscious and succulent. A chocolate macaron, with a chocolate filling to die for. It has a incredible taste, texture and chew. Absolutely divine! The shape is perfect, not to big and not to small. When you need some chocolate for the day, this Les Macaron, will satisfy.
Now the next flavor was different, it was Lavender, another bright and cheery Macaron, from Les Macarons. This petite confection that looks like a cookie, is so pretty, you almost don't want to bite into it. You might not think it has a good taste, but you would be wrong. It's like biting into a heavenly cloud. Not only does it have the taste of lavender, but the aroma as well.
Now who doesn't like Crème Brulee',
and that was the next flavor from, Les Macarons, By A Cacao Affair. The color

The flavors don't stop, next was a Strawberry Basil, Les Macaron. As you go on you see where the playfulness with the colors and flavors develop. There is the color of pale strawberry, the taste of the same, with a hint of basil at the fore ground. In each bite, you can taste the perfection of artistry that went into making these confections. These macaron's have a very intense pleasurable taste, that you will remember long after its gone.
Blueberry was next, and the color was so deep and bright. There was no mistaking when you looked at it what flavor it was. It was also airy, crisp in the right places, and had the true flavor of fresh blueberries. It was very enjoyable, and took you to a spring day, sitting on the porch. The texture and flavor was perfectly delicate. The, Les Macarons, blueberry will be a party in your mouth.
Spring flavors of peach were next, for the Les Macaron. This flavor was doubly amazing. The inside and outside, tasting like a GA, peach, just picked from the tree. It was mouth watering, and such a pleasure to the palate. It was music to your mouth, in every bite. While eating it, you think of sitting in a field of peach trees, because the taste and aroma is as such.
Now the last Macaron from, Les Macarons, By A Cacao Affair, was salted caramel. Two lovely flavors that meld so well together. A nice color, with a perfect bake. The Macaron was light and fluffy and crisp at the edge. The dominate flavor tasted like caramel, with a hint of cinnamon. Once you take a bite of this, you are in a deep trance of heavenly bliss.
