Roots Kitchen & Cannery Product Review

If you love fresh veggies and fruits all year round, you are going to love the products I got today, from the company, Roots Kitchen & Cannery. The company is located out of, Belgrade, MT.

It is their goal to make and craft delicious pickles, preserves, jams and cannery goods. All sourced locally. From humble beginnings out of the farmers market booth, to our tables today, they craft wonderful products, that please.

Now let me share with you, my day, and what I created myself, using products I received from, Roots Kitchen & Cannery.

It all began, with the jar of curried carrot pickle, from, Roots Kitchen & Cannery. This is a product that is award winning for the company, and a top seller as well. And after you eat the curried carrot pickles you will taste why it is. The pickled carrots are in nice long sliced carrots, that has the most amazing spice and the most perfect zest to them. Even in the brine, the carrots still hold a crunch and snap. To use them, I made some sandwich's of, sliced pork and pate, then covered the top with the curried carrot pickle. There is only one word to describe the product, exquisite! You can see the natural ingredients right through the jar. There is: local organic carrots, non-GMO vinegar, water, sugar, salt, onion, curry powder, red pepper flakes. A perfect balance of all. Even with the red pepper flakes, the heat is not overpowering. And as a added crunch to the sandwich, it melded perfectly. The curried carrot pickle, can be used straight from the jar, as a side dish or snack, or add it to other recipes or as a condiment.

For dinner, I had already the idea of making a nice glaze, using, Roots Kitchen & Cannery, sour plum and sage jam, for some salmon fillets. I was right to use it as a glaze, it gave the salmon the most sophisticated flavor profile. A nice tang, with a earthy autumn flavor from the sage. The sweet sour fruit, sour plum, is rich in vitamin C and K, and has great fiber and potassium. And the best part low in calories. The sour plum and sage jam, is a burst of flavor on your palate, that leaves you with a indulgence of memories. The ingredients are: locally Italian plums and, Italian plums, non-GMO cane sugar, sage, non-GMO pectin. Great as a glaze, or for many other recipes.

I made a small tart, and for the filling made used, Roots Kitchen & Cannery raspberry vanilla jam. It was fruity and mouth watering. The jam is not only bright to look at, but burst with flavor in your mouth. You have the robust flavor from the raspberry mixes, with a hint of vanilla at the end. It was wonderful as a fruit tart filling, but get creative with it, not just for breakfast, but for many dish's. The ingredients are real and fresh and include: raspberries, non-GMO cane sugar, non-GMO pectin, vanilla extract.
