Star-Spangled Burgers: A Red, White, and Blue Twist on a Classic!

The Fourth of July is synonymous with backyard barbecues, fireworks, and celebrating freedom. And what better way to celebrate than with a delicious and festive burger? This recipe takes the classic burger to a new level with a red, white, and blue twist that will impress your guests!

Ingredients:

For the Burgers:

1 pound ground beef (80/20 lean-to-fat ratio)

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon onion powder

1 tablespoon crumbled blue cheese (optional)

For the Toppings:

Hamburger buns

Sliced red onion

Sliced white cheddar cheese

Blue cheese crumbles (additional)

Lettuce leaves

Tomato slices

Ketchup

Mustard

Mayonnaise

Instructions:

Prep the Burgers: In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and blue cheese (if using). Mix gently with your hands until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the burgers tough.

Form the Patties: Divide the beef mixture into 4 equal portions. Shape each portion into a slightly wider patty than your hamburger bun. Make a thumbprint indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up too much while cooking.

Cook the Burgers: Heat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Grill the burgers for 3-4 minutes per side, or until cooked to your desired doneness.

Assemble the Burgers: Toast the hamburger buns on the grill for the last minute of cooking. Place the cooked burger patty on the bottom bun. Top with a slice of red onion, white cheddar cheese, blue cheese crumbles (additional), lettuce, and tomato. Drizzle with ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise as desired.

Serve and Enjoy! Top the burger with the other half of the bun and serve immediately. Enjoy your star-spangled burger with your favorite Fourth of July sides!

Tips:

You can substitute the ground beef with a veggie burger patty for a vegetarian option.

If you don't have a grill, you can cook the burgers in a skillet over medium heat.

Get creative with your toppings! You could add other red and blue ingredients, such as pickled red onions or blueberries (yes, blueberries!).

This recipe is easily doubled or tripled to feed a crowd.

Celebrate Independence Day in style with these delicious Star-Spangled Burgers! They're the perfect way to add a festive touch to your Fourth of July barbecue. So fire up the grill, gather your friends and family, and enjoy the holiday!
