Tzatziki sauce is extremely popular and important in Greek cuisine. It was typically paired with pita bread, souvlaki, and gyros. This is great as a dip with fresh, crunchy veggies. But nothing beats a gyro: pita bread, gyro meat, lettuce, diced tomato, onions, and Tzatziki sauce.
1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon fresh dill chopped
1 clove garlic minced
1/2 cucumber diced
In a small bowl, combine all of the ingredients for the tzatziki
sauce. Stir until thoroughly combined. Place aside.
Select each pita pocket bread so that it can be stuffed
with excellence. Take care not to tear. Stuff with the vegetable fillings and
top with tzatziki sauce for taste.
