AnnaMaria's Foods Product Review

There's nothing I love more then cooking a Italian Feast, and tonight that's just what I did. I had the family over and had a buffet with dish's I created using AnnaMaria's Foods, products.

From my own home state of New Jersey, a lovely lady dropped off some delicious products for me to try.

AnnaMaria's foods, products were inspired, from a mother, and a Great Grandfather's recipes. The products are made with rich fruits and vegetables that the sun has kissed. And most important the recipes are kept true to what Italians believe, eating foods that are close to the earth. Cooking with ingredients that you may grow in your own garden, or ingredients just picked at the local farmers markets. Made in small batch's to ensure quality and freshness, is what AnnaMaria's brings to your table.

With the products, and help from my daughters, I made a Italian spread, that turned out so appetizing, and using AnnaMaria's products as the main ingredient in all of them.

The first dish was a Calabrain egg bake, using AnnaMaria's
Torino tomato sauce. No other ingredient was added, just the Torino sauce and the eggs. The sauce is nice and thick and held the sunny side up eggs perfectly. In the sauce is tomatoes, peppers, and carrots, with oregano, basil, garlic and capers. This is a wonderful, and very flavorful tomato sauce that you can use for other dish's besides pasta. It is just the perfect consistency. If using it on pasta it would stick very well. The sauce is not salty at all, and is just pure nectar to your palate. You taste every ingredient in the tomato sauce, as if it was cooked all day right in your own kitchen. It's fresh, and very robust, and does not have that store bought flavor. Every bite you taste the love that went into making it. It would pair very well with many dish's.

I did not make huge batch's of any of the dish's, just enough for each family member to savor these wonderful products.

The next dish, was a small pot of seafood bisque, and for that I used AnnaMaria's, Bagna Rossa Olive. It just complimented the seafood so well. If you do not know what Bagna is, it is a Italian version of salsa. The jar is full of homemade flavors that come from chunky olives and caper tapenade, and fresh tomato. Its one of the family's recipes, that is very versatile. Use it with chips, or on a slice of meat. It's a great alternative to other salsa's you may be using. It puts a new spin of salsa's! The ingredients are all natural and fresh, they include,  Diced tomatoes, onions, peppers, carrots, tomato puree, black olives, green olives, garlic, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, white vinegar, water, basil, capers, salt, citric acid. If you love tapenade you will love this product. This was the main flavoring for my seafood bisque, nothing else was required for taste. It all came from the jar. The blend is just a perfect chunk, not to thick, not to thin. A very nice richness of flavor profiles.

Another seafood dish, that was on the table was some scallops with sautéed fresh radicchio and also AnnaMaria's radicchio marmalade. This product is also very versatile, you can serve it with many different food groups. Cheese, fish, meats, even seafood as I did. It gave the scallops a fresh new flavor and taste. It was a little sweet, and a little tart, very sophisticated flavors. The ingredients include,  Radicchio, Water, Sugar, Apples, Orange Juice, Pectin Sucrose, Pectin, Citric Acid, Calcium Citrate, Lemon Juice, Orange Zest, Spices. The marmalade has the perfect blend and has a very nice texture, that was very pleasing on the palate. Not over sugary at all, or overly tart. It is a very unique marmalade that was our first taste of. We truly enjoyed it!

The next dish that I made, was a pizza dip with AnnaMaria's, Bagna Rossa Spicy. This bagna is another perfect blend product that is homemade from AnnaMaria's. It's heat comes from hot Italian pepper and is extraordinary in taste. It to is a very versatile product, that you can use as a dip, but also to compliment many other dish's as a added ingredient. In the jar, was  Diced tomatoes, onions, peppers, carrots, tomato puree, garlic, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, white vinegar, water, basil, salt, hot red pepper flakes, citric acid. If you like spicy pasta sauce, this spicy bagna would also work. This bagna is a traditional recipe of Piemonte Italy, and in each bite you can taste the homemade flavors. It would be great on sausage sandwich's to, for a down the beach flavor.

As a sandwich for the buffet table, I made one long sub, using turkey and toppings and also some of AnnaMaria's bell pepper jam, instead of mayo. It was the perfect ingredient that complimented the sliced turkey. It was like having a slice of fresh bell peppers on the sub, only in jam form. Then at the end you get the hint of heat from the cherry pepper ingredient. Leaving your palate warm and wanting more! This would pair perfectly with many food groups, such as cream cheese, or as a glaze on some wings. The ingredient list, is Red Bell Peppers, Sugar, Red Wine, Red Cherry Peppers, Pectin Sucrose, Pectin, Citric Acid, Salt. You get a sweet heat treat with this jam!

For a pasta dish, I made some lasagna roll ups and used AnnaMaria's, Pinerolo tomato sauce. Again that was the total flavoring for the dish. Once again I can't tell you enough how versatile all these products are. This one in particular works with not only pasta but over many baked dish's. The flavor profile is fantastic, you get a fresh garden taste, with a smoky profile. A first for me, having a sauce that includes Pancetta. The sauce is thick, but yet easy to pour. With ingredients of, Plum Tomatoes, Tomato Puree (Tomatoes, Salt, Naturally Derived Citric Acid), Onions, Carrots, Peppers, Pancetta (Pork, Sea Salt, Less than 2%:Turbinado Sugar, Organic Wine, Spices, Natural Flavor, Lactic Acid Starter Culture), Olive Oil, Garlic, Sage, Salt, Citric Acid, it is just amazing! This sauce is just so exquisite, brilliant in taste and in color. A rich flavor that you will find cooking with very easy. A five star product.

To go with my pasta dish, I made some eggplant parm, and used the tomato sauce from AnnaMaria's, Milano. The porcini mushrooms just brings out the flavor in this sauce. Then you have the taste of fresh orange, another first flavor tasting for all of us. You can use the sauce on pasta, or on a baked veggie dish as I did, even on top of a meatloaf would taste good. The ingredients are, Plum Tomatoes, Tomato Puree (Tomatoes, Salt, Naturally Derived Citric Acid), Onions, Carrots, Olive Oil, Red Wine (Contains Sulfites), Water, Dried Mushrooms (Porcini, Oyster, Shitake, Woodear), Orange Zest, Garlic, Salt, Citric Acid. In every bite, you get a freshness of earthy flavors, that is very divine. And for those whom make chicken Milano, this sauce would make it over the top. This is not your typical tomato sauce, this is a gourmet delight.

I also included a dip on the table, and for that I just served Bagna Rossa Basil straight from the jar with some corn chips. After all these Bagna's are Italian salsa's. The bagna rossa basil, has a nice chunk to it, with peppers, onion and spices. The basil just takes the flavors to new heights. The ingredients are, Diced tomatoes, onions, peppers, carrots, tomato puree, garlic, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, white vinegar, water, basil, salt, citric acid. Not only is this AnnaMaria's bagna rossa basil great as a dip, but would make a wonderful topping on baked fish. The entire flavor profile for the bagna basil is very amazing, true nectar to your palate.

For dessert I made two dish's, the first was a few thumbprint cookies with AnnaMaria's strawberry rose jam. The jam is so fresh, and you taste this freshness in the strawberries that were mixed with roses in full bloom. The jam is made with, Strawberries, Sugar, Rosolio Liqueur (Grain Alcohol, Sugar, Damask Rose Petals), Lemon Juice, Pectin (Sucrose, Pectin, Citric Acid, Calcium Citrate), Lemon Zest. The lemon gives it a nice citrus flavor, then you have the strawberry taste, and the rose petals, just takes it to new heights. A nice homemade blended jam, that you can enjoy with baking recipes or on a nice hot English muffin in the morning. It is just a straightforward great tasting jam.

The last product from AnnaMaria's was almond apricot jam, and that was what I topped my apricot cookies with, along with some fresh chopped almonds. A nice sweet balance of ingredients that included, Apricots, Sugar, Almonds, Pectin (Sucrose, Pectin, Citric Acid, Calcium Citrate), Almond Extract (Purified Water, Organic Alcohol, Glycerin, Natural Bitter Almond Oil.) And the taste just doubled using it to top almond cookies. This jam is also a very versatile product, use it as a glaze for poultry for fish, or serve in a baked brie, the ideas are endless. The jam tasted like what a Italian Grandma would make in the kitchen. Everything you want for flavor is already in the jar. Your almond taste, and your apricot taste!
