Broken glass jello is created with a total of four flavors of colorful jello that have been cubed and poured over with a sweet and creamy gelatin mixture to resemble beautiful shards of stained glass.
This broken glass jello recipe, also known as stained glass
jello, is brimming with multiple flavors of colorful jello cubes twirling
within a gelatin and sweetened condensed milk combination. When set, the result
is this stunning dessert that can be tailored to any holiday or theme! This
recipe is much simpler than it appears, and even children can help.
JELLO - Select the colors and flavors of the jello mix that
you prefer. This one included cherry, orange, lemon, and blue raspberry. If you
want to sugar-free jello may be replaced.
INGREDIENTS - The sweetened condensed milk gives the
unflavored gelatin a sweet creaminess.
Nonstick cooking spray in four small square or rectangular
containers. We used 6" square glass flat-bottomed food storage containers.
Fill each container with 1 packet of jello and 1 cup of
boiling water. Whisk the mixtures together until the jello is completely
dissolved in the boiling water. Place the containers in the
refrigerator for 2 hours to set, with lids if available.
Once the jello has been set, cut it into small cubes.
Nonstick cooking spray on the bottom and sides of a 913
glass baking dish.
Place the colored jello cubes into the 913 dishes and
gently toss them to distribute the colors evenly through the dish.
Dissolve the two packets of unflavored gelatin in the
remaining 2 cups of boiling water in a separate bowl. Whisk in the can of
sweetened condensed milk once it has been dissolved. Cool until the mixture
reaches room temperature.
In the 913 dishes, pour the white gelatin mixture over the
colored cubes. Refrigerate for 3-4 hours, or until completely set.
Jello should be cut into squares and served.
