This is a simple recipe for bread that can be made in a stand mixer. It is a great recipe for beginners, and it only requires a few ingredients.
Ingredients:
1 cup warm water (105-115 degrees F)
1 tablespoon sugar
1 packet of active dry yeast
3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions:
Combine the warm water, sugar, and yeast in the bowl of a
stand mixer. Let stand for 5 minutes, or until the yeast is foamy.
Add the flour, salt, and olive oil to the bowl of the stand
mixer. Attach the dough hook and mix on low speed for 5 minutes.
Increase the speed to medium and mix for 5 minutes more, or
until the dough is smooth and elastic.
Lightly grease a large bowl with olive oil. Place the dough
in the bowl, turning to coat with oil. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let
rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Punch down the dough and turn it out onto a lightly floured
surface. Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased 9x5 inch loaf
pan.
Cover the loaf pan with plastic wrap and let rise for 30
minutes, or until doubled in size.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Bake the bread for 30-35 minutes, or until golden brown.
Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack
for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Tips:
If you don't have a stand mixer, you can make this bread by
hand. It will just take a little more effort.
You can add your favorite herbs or spices to the dough for
extra flavor.
This bread is best served fresh, but it can be stored in an
airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
Enjoy!
