The
finest burgers are made with the best ingredients. Delicious ground sirloin
burgers with applewood-smoked bacon, peanut butter, and strong Cheddar cheese
are the greatest burgers imaginable!
Ingredient
Checklist
1 pound
ground beef sirloin
1 teaspoon
fresh ground black pepper
½
teaspoon onion powder
½
teaspoon garlic powder
½
teaspoon kosher salt
½
teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
¼
teaspoon cayenne pepper
8 slices of applewood-smoked bacon
1 ½ cups shredded sharp Cheddar
1 cup
peanut butter
1
tablespoon maple syrup
6
hamburger buns
6 leaves
lettuce
2
tomatoes, sliced
In a
large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, black pepper, onion powder, garlic
powder, salt, Worcestershire sauce, and cayenne pepper until equally combined.
Make 6 4-inch wide patties out of the meat mixture. Place patties on a large
dish and wrap with plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 30 minutes, or until patties
are somewhat stiff.
Heat an
outside grill over medium-high heat and grease the grate liberally. Cook the
bacon in a large pan over medium-high heat, rotating regularly, for
approximately 10 minutes, or until uniformly browned. On paper towels, drain
the bacon slices. Sauté beef patties on a prepared grill for 4 minutes on each
side, or until they begin to firm up and are hot and slightly pink in the
middle. A thermometer put into the middle should read 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
About a minute before the patties are done, sprinkle with Cheddar cheese.
In a
microwave-safe bowl, combine the peanut butter and maple syrup. Microwave the
peanut butter mixture for about 25 seconds, or until it is somewhat runny. Stir
once more.
Top
hamburger buns with peanut butter mixture, meat patties, lettuce, tomatoes, and
bacon.
