I was so excited for dinner, and ready to taste the other products sent by Dafni Greek products.
For appetizers, I made two.
The first I took a block of Greek feta cheese and drizzled it with Dafni Greek
product, Greek Lemoni. It could not have been more elegant. Slicing off some of
the feta with the lemoni was just divine and so classy looking. Dafni Greek
Lemoni is considered a Greek drizzling oil, and is very, very elegant in look
and flavor. Not only can you use it to drizzle onto a food, but you can use it
as a marinade. It is a wonderful alternative to mayo also, and great if making
a tuna salad. Also it is a extraordinary flavor enhancement, for drizzling over
seafood, even pasta. The ingredients are organic and natural and consist of, DÁFNI
Unfiltered Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Organic Lemon Juice, DÁFNI Wild Greek
Oregano, Sea Salt from the Pacific. The anacidity level of the Dafni Greek Lemoni, is very low, and there is no over salty taste to it. A beautiful blend!
The olives that make this Lemoni are handpicked, and harvested from a family
grove in Gythio
The second elegant appetizer for tonight's dinner, was fun to create. I made everyone a green olive feta shooter, using Dafni Greek Products, green olives. The olives came as a gift sampler, so well packaged and ready for gift giving. The green olives in the jar are called green atlas olives. They are in a wonderful tasting brine of fresh lemon juice, Dafni extra virgin olive oil, and pacific sea salt as well. The olives are very fresh, and large in size. They are plump and buttery tasting, a very gourmet flavor profile. The bite of the olives is a nice crisp, and also when you open the jar there is a aromatic scent that just draws you in for a bite. Not only did the Atlas olives dress up my shooters, they added the perfect taste.
The next dish before the main
course, was a nice feta watermelon salad, using Dafni Balsamic vinegar. Talk
about a balsamic vinegar, this one from Dafni, is aged in a oak wood barrel for
a minimum of 12 years. The flavor is just nectar to your lips. Its, smooth,
sweet, and has woody tones. The blend is not to thin and not to thick. And the
aged balsamic is made in
My main dish was some baked fish, drizzle with Dafni unfiltered extra virgin olive oil. The aroma that escapes when you open the bottle is just amazing. And the taste even more so. You get the ingredients of green and ripe olive fruits in the flavor profile. Then there is a nutty, and buttery taste as well, with a slight hint of artichoke. A very classy olive oil from Dafni Greek Products. The after taste is smooth and very pleasant on the palate, then a nice peppery finish. It is a wonderful gourmet drizzle, but again is very versatile. Use it for a bread dipping sauce, a salad dressing, a coating for some pasta, the ideas again are endless. The Dafni olive oil is just divine, and made with such love and quality. And you taste it in every bite. It just complimented the top of my baked fish so well, adding just the right flavor. You will for sure, want to make Dafni unfiltered extra virgin olive oil a staple in your kitchen. I have no doubts!
If you would like to try these excellent handmade gourmet products, you can find them on the Dafni website and on Amazon as well.
