MC Pickles and Jelly Review

I got to make some yummy meals with products sent over from Michael's Pickles. Not only their sweet and spicy pickles was sent, but some really nice succulent tasting pepper jelly's, and Salsa in a bucket.

From Louisiana, this company started from taking homemade pickles to get together's. From there it went to 300 jars being delivered, to what is now Michael's Pickles.

For me today, it was a brunch buffet, my favorite kind of meal to cook, for my family and a few friends.

With Michael's blackberry pepper jelly, I made some delicious chicken wings, and glazed them with the blackberry pepper jelly. That was the only flavor added to the wings. The blackberry pepper jelly, made my chicken wings, finger licking good. The jelly also gave my wings a beautiful deep purple color. With a sweet and a kick of a taste. The jelly is made with all natural ingredients. There is no gluten or gmo at all. The nice kick comes from jalapenos and cayenne peppers. Then a little tartness from the lemon juice. A nice jelly you can indulge.

For a meat dish I made a few grilled pork chops with fresh pineapple and some of the pineapple pepper jelly. Talk about divine! Talk about hot, this jelly is not only made with pineapple but four different types of peppers, jalapenos, habanero, scorpion, and Serrano. It didn't need a lot, I didn't want tongues falling off. But the flavor it gave was very dominant and palatable. With the fresh pineapple, it did cut the heat level slightly. It’s a specifically pleasant flavor, just a ton of heat. Great for those who really like it hot.

For the grim reaper jelly from Michael's Pickles, I poured it over some cream cheese with a side of crackers. Doesn't sound fancy, but the jelly made it a heat lovers dream. Made with jalapenos, cayenne, scorpion, and Carolina reaper peppers. It was a very mouth watering experience, but very delectable. We love heat, and if you do, then any of these fine jellies are for you. It may be hot, but very tasteful.

Another handmade blackberry pepper jelly, was from Lucy Farms, and for that I made a stuffed ham and cheese panini and it was exquisite. Again you get the sweet and heat taste and flavor profile, that is intense but amazing. And with the ham, you got a little salt taste as well.

With Michael's lemon drop pepper jelly, I made some almond thumb print cookies to give some dessert with heat. The jelly is made with jalapeno's and scotch bonnet peppers, and with the almonds it really melded well. A very enjoyable dessert cookie with some heat. A new jelly from Michael's pickles.

Any brunch I make I also have a breakfast dish, and with Michael's, salsa in a bucket, I made some baked Spanish eggs. Now it is for making a salsa but you can still use it in other dish's you create. Just adding it to the petit tomatoes it made a very extraordinary baked egg dish. All the ingredients in the can are dehydrated, and real, there is nothing artificial at all. And the can is so cute, even coming with a little disk to open the lid. The scoop inside helps you measure the ingredients, with the directions right on the can. it has a ton of flavor for sure. There is no preservatives, no msg, and no gluten. The heat level is a medium, with a hint of redemption as it says on the front. You even get 18 scoops of ready to make salsa ingredients from the can.

Also on my buffet, was some garlic bread, with pepper jelly topping. This jelly from Michael's is really robust, rich and again sweet heat. The jelly pepper ingredients are jalapenos and Serrano's. A jelly full of flavor and with the garlic toast it was luscious. Every bite was lip smacking.

For something different, I grilled some hot dogs, and peaches and the topping was Michael's peach habanero HooDoo. The jelly is made with sweet peaches and peppers of jalapenos, habanero, and Serrano's. A different take on a hot dog, that everyone really enjoyed. A nice crunchy bite with some sweet southern flavor and heat. There was not anything left so far that I made, so I knew the jellies were a hit.

Another dessert that I made was some puff pastry with goat cheese and Michael's strawberry pepper jelly. This was amazing! Made with real ingredients, strawberries and jalapenos, and other natural ingredients, it was just the perfect marriage of goat cheese and pepper jelly. The tiny appetizers, was one of the first dish's to disappear very fast, even before a meat dish.

The last thing on the buffet was some thin sliced roast duck meat with Michael's sweet and spicy pickles on top. The two married well together, a nice slice of the roast duck, and the crunch of the sweet and spicy pickle. Right through the jar you can see all the ingredients. The pepper seeds, and the nice size pickles that had the perfect crunch. You can eat them out of the jar, put them on a burger, even blend them into a relish, but get creative, they are a true handmade gourmet pickle.
