With that being said, I am very excited to share my day, and what I created for dishes, using Pixie's Preserves products. So let's begin!
The day began early enough, to bake some crumbled breakfast bars, with Pixie's Preserves, strawberry rhubarb jam. Right through this cute crafted label, you can see the ingredients inside. The jam is made with real ingredients, hence they all are! The strawberry rhubarb jam is crafted of, pure cane sugar, strawberries, rhubarb, and pectin. This recipe for the jam goes back to an old-time fav of Grandmom's, just like she used to make. The strawberries are the upfront flavor, with a leftover on the tart rhubarb. When you use it, it spreads smoothly just like butter. A very versatile product from, Pixie's Preserves, just like all the products. You can use them from toast to meat marinades. They are so good, you just want to grab a spoon and dip right in the jar and eat them. The color is fresh and bright, just like the flavor.
Pixie's Preserves, sent over a jar of jelly that was a first for me to taste. It was their pickle jelly, that was made with homemade dill pickles and other real ingredients. I decided to make a cheeseburger pie, and use the pickle jelly for the main flavor. Again when you peek into the jar, you see all the natural ingredients, even the tiny pickle seeds. This is a unique jelly, that reminds you of pickles right from the jar. The taste is fresh, and clean, and added a ton of flavor to my cheeseburger pie. On your palate, you get a tinge of sweetness and tang, with a wonderful pickle taste.
I was really excited to start dinner, with my Pixie's Preserves products. Up first was a yummy hot pepper jelly appetizer. The cream cheese brought the heat level down some, but it was still there in a delightful way. The ingredients of cherry peppers, jalapeno, and habanero peppers, let you know they were there. And before you even open the jar, you can see all the mixed pepper seeds, in the jelly just letting you know, some heat is on the way. This is a very versatile jelly as well, to add to cream cheese, but also as an added ingredient to other recipes.
Here's how to make the appetizer.
INGREDIENTS
8 oz
cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup
mayonnaise
2 cups
cheddar cheese, grated
2 green
onions, thin-sliced
12 Ritz
crackers, crushed
8
slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
10
ounces hot pepper jelly from Pixie's Preserves
Directions
Heat
the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9-inch pie plate or a 9-by-9-inch casserole dish
with cooking spray. Blend softened cream cheese and mayonnaise in a medium
mixing bowl with a hand mixer until smooth. Add the shredded cheese and green
onions and mix well. Fill a pie plate or casserole dish halfway with the
mixture. Crush Ritz crackers on top. Bake for 15 minutes at 350 degrees F.
Remove from the oven and sprinkle with crumbled bacon. Remove the cover from
the hot pepper jelly jar and microwave for 45 seconds, or until the
jelly is liquid. Pour the hot pepper jelly on top of the dip.
For a dinner side dish, I made a delicious baked apple crumble with fresh apples, and Pixie's Preserves, apple crisp jam. Not only did my house have an amazing aroma, but a baked apple crumble that was just as amazing. The jam gave my dish so much flavor. In the jam, is fresh apples, and rolled oats, with brown sugar. You can use this jam for desserts, or even a topping on your recipes of choice. It is just the most mouth-watering jam you will ever taste. If you are baking cookies this jam would be perfect for the filling, even as a cake filler. Before you get to open the jar, you see all the apple bits inside. And when you open it, the aroma just flows out, and it's heavenly.
The main course of the evening was some baked pork chops, topped with not only balsamic but Pixie's Preserves, lemon blueberry jam. I wish I could have away, to share with you, the aroma's going on in my kitchen. This jam is so good with pork, but it is very versatile, and if your are creative, you will find so many ways to cook with it. The jar holds so many sweet wild blueberries. And when you taste it, it's so fresh and clean, with a tinge of tartness from the lemon. It would be perfect in any recipe.
The evening ended with a homemade panna cotta, made with Pixie's Preserves, lemon marmalade. When you open the jar, the aroma of fresh lemons just escapes up to your nose. It smells as fresh as its taste. Not only can you use it as an ingredient in a recipe, but in a hot cup of tea. It's so amazing and delectable. And the best part is it's made with real lemons. From a cake filling to a hot cup of tea, this Pixie's Preserves marmalade will have your taste buds dancing.
