Homemade Italian Meatballs

 



 Italian meatballs are a classic dish that is perfect for any occasion. They are also a great way to use up leftover bread. This recipe for homemade Italian meatballs is easy to follow and can be customized to your taste.

 

Ingredients

 

1 pound ground beef

1/2 pound ground pork

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup chopped onion

1/4 cup chopped parsley

1 egg

1 clove garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

1/2 cup marinara sauce

Instructions

 

In a large bowl, combine the beef, pork, Parmesan cheese, breadcrumbs, onion, parsley, egg, garlic, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.

Mix well until combined.

Shape the mixture into small meatballs.

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.

Cook the meatballs for 2-3 minutes per side, or until browned.

Add the marinara sauce and bring to a simmer.

Cook for 10-15 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through.

Serve the meatballs over pasta or with a side of crusty bread.

Tips

 

You can use any type of meat you like for this recipe.

If you don't have marinara sauce, you can use your favorite tomato sauce.

These meatballs can be frozen for up to 3 months.
