Pork chops are a versatile cut of meat that can be cooked in various ways. In this blog post, I will share a recipe for pork chops with apples. This dish is easy to make and is perfect for a weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
4 bone-in pork chops
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 onion, chopped
2 apples, chopped
1 cup apple cider
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/4 cup water
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Season pork chops with salt and pepper.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over
medium-high heat. Add pork chops and cook until browned on both sides.
Remove pork chops from the skillet and set
aside.
Add onion to skillet and cook until softened.
Stir in apples, apple cider, brown sugar,
cornstarch, and water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5
minutes, or until thickened.
Return pork chops to skillet and cook for 2-3
minutes, or until heated through.
Serve with:
Mashed potatoes
Rice
Pasta
Tips
You can use any type of apple you like for this
recipe.
If you don't have apple cider, you can use
apple juice.
This dish is also delicious served with a side
of Brussels sprouts or roasted carrots.
