Crispy Pork Belly

  



A pork belly is a cut of pork that comes from the underside of the pig. It is a fatty cut of meat that is full of flavor. Pork belly can be cooked in a variety of ways, but one of the most popular methods is to fry it. Fried pork belly is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Ingredients

 

1 pound pork belly, skin removed

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper  

1/4 cup vegetable oil

Instructions

 

Pat the pork belly dry. Use paper towels to pat the pork belly dry.

Season the pork belly. In a small bowl, combine the flour, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Season the pork belly with the flour mixture.

Heat the oil. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Cook the pork belly. Add the pork belly to the hot oil and cook for 5-7 minutes per side or until golden brown and crispy.

Rest the pork belly. Remove the pork belly from the skillet and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

Tips

 

For a crispier pork belly, score the skin with a sharp knife before cooking.

You can also roast pork belly in the oven. To do this, preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Season the pork belly with your favorite spices and roast for 30-40 minutes, or until cooked through.

Pork belly is a versatile ingredient that can be used in a variety of dishes. It is delicious in sandwiches, salads, and stir-fries.
