Veggie burgers are a great way to enjoy a delicious and healthy meal. They are also a great option for people who are vegetarian or vegan. There are many different recipes for veggie burgers, but this one is one of my favorites. It is easy to make and it is packed with flavor.
Ingredients
1 cup cooked brown rice
1 cup cooked lentils
1/2 cup grated carrots
1/4 cup chopped onion
1/4 cup chopped celery
1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
1 tablespoon ground cumin
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup vegetable broth
1 egg, beaten
1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine the brown rice,
lentils, carrots, onion, celery, green bell pepper, parsley, breadcrumbs,
cumin, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Stir in the vegetable broth and egg.
Form the mixture into 8 patties.
Heat the olive oil in a large skillet
over medium heat.
Cook the patties for 5-7 minutes per
side, or until cooked through.
Serve the patties on your favorite buns.
Tips
For a healthier option, use whole wheat
buns.
You can add other vegetables to your
veggie burgers, such as mushrooms, spinach, or zucchini.
You can also add spices to your veggie
burgers, such as chili powder or cayenne pepper.
If you don't have vegetable broth, you
can use water.
You can also use a food processor to make
the veggie burger patties.
