To create
oven-baked chicken taste like fried chicken, mix a little mayo into the
traditional egg–and–bread crumbs coating. The mayo crisps up the individual
bread crumbs while providing your chicken a rich texture similar to that of
fried meals.
Whenever
juicing limes or lemons, remove the bottom first so that all of the juice goes
through the fruit rather than becoming stuck in the rind. Will not squander
your grip strength on a few drips of lime juice!
Reduce
grease splatters by sprinkling flour on your bacon. It will also crisp up your
bacon.
When in
doubt, use ground pepper instead of cracked pepper. Finely ground pepper, the
sort that looks like dust, is excellent for sauces. It's quite potent, and a
little goes a long way. Coarse ground pepper, on the other side, is great for
flavoring meats or finishing meals at the table. It lends a flavor explosion to
everything you put it in.
