Arroyo Kitchen/Little Jasmine Product Review

A meal, whether, breakfast, lunch, dinner, a snack, even dessert, brings people together. It creates a time for conversation, and at times the conversation is even about the meal. When cooking with family or friends, it brings you together, it is not only a culture, but a heritage bond. You are giving not only your love, but are being a vehicle for future cooks that join you at your table. The most fun for a meal is when you incorporate family theme night. It can be inspired by a certain type of food, or inspired by a culture or country. And with the products I received, that's what tonight is all about. And the theme will be all about shrimp, and some Creole influenced cooking. With some heat, to some sweet, it's going to be a Louisiana Creole cuisine dinner on the table tonight.

Now this is the first time for me to get products that are from one company, then from another company that is the sub of. But together they will be combined into a theme meal for my family. But first a little back story about both companies.

Now for the other company Little Jasmine, here is their story. Their goods are carefully manufactured from India to Italy all over the world. Our main goal is to extend the creativity of international cuisine to our daily lifestyle and to your dining table. Well it's on to cooking, and for the meal tonight, I am making three dishes and the main two ingredients will be shrimp, and three products sent over from Little Jasmine and Arroyo Kitchen.

First dish of the night was, fresh shrimp with tails still on, cooked in the Little Jasmine coconut oil, with garlic, and cilantro, and some mojito spices. The smell is amazing, and cooking it in the coconut oil, gives me a much more healthy benefit. The coconut oil from Little Jasmine, is a raw vegan product, that is Cold-Pressed, unrefined, organic, has no preservatives, no hydrogenated fat, and is vegan and kosher. Now coconut oil is not only great for cooking, it can be useful for moisturizing your skin, and even great as a hair conditioner. So just one product in a jar, serves for many multi purposes. As for cooking with coconut oil it is the most unique, because of its high heat content from saturated fat lauric acid. Coconut oil has many benefits when using it for cooking as you will see. The fatty acids are healthy, it may even boost heart health, and is even known to reduce hunger. As far as using it for my dinner, it was perfect for frying my shrimp on a medium high heat, almost like a stir fry. There was no smoke coming from the oil, from the heat being this high.

On to the second dish of the night, was another shrimp dish sautéd with the product from Arroyo Kitchen, called "delicious onion sauce". This product is made in Italy, and is very versatile. As far as seasonings on the shrimp, all it had on it was the "delicious onion sauce" and some chopped parsley for garnish. The Arroyo Kitchen "delicious onion sauce", provided all the flavorings I needed for this dish. The flavors we're bold, natural tasting, and had real bits of onion and tomatoes in it. It gave you a real authentic flavor. All the ingredients in the "delicious onion sauce", are also all natural, and are great for vegans, vegetarians, but all others to! The jar of Arroyo Kitchen "delicious onion sauce", is ready to serve as soon as you open the jar. It's full of onions, that are preserved in sunflower oil, so I needed no oil when I sautéed my shrimp. It can be used in any Italian cooking, but worked for my Creole inspired dinner tonight as well. To make my dish spicy I added some heat when eating with hot sauce on the side. You can use this versatile onion sauce for many different types of recipes, in a antipasto as a topping, or as a spread on a sandwich, what ever you choose, it adds a ton of flavor to the dish.

The last dish is going to be pasta and shrimp, and I am going to us in my sauce, Arroyo Kitchen "midnight spice sauce". The midnight spice sauce gave the pasta sauce a very deep red color. Now as far as the ingredients in Arroyo Kitchen "midnight spice sauce", it is a tomato based sauce, from Italy as well. But it worked marvelous in the pasta sauce for Creole night, giving it a deep color and spicy taste. The midnight spice sauce is also great for vegetarian and vegan dishes, since it has no added sugars, or even excessive sodium. It's made with only real, fresh tomatoes, red hot chili peppers, and sweet paprika. The heat was around a level four, and the taste was amazing bold and robust. It gave the pasta sauce a fresh taste as well from all the natural flavors. This sauce will enhance any dish where used. Great for Spanish rice dishes, pasta as I did, even in a soup.

So to cool things off after clearing up dinner, it was time for the sweets sent over from Little Jasmine.

LittleJasmine, sent over three bags of their fruit candies. When you open the bags, each piece of candy is wrapped individually. They make great candies to put into your candy dish, whether its at home, or even in the office. They are all vegan, gelatin free, and made from real fruit juice's. The first one we unwrapped and tasted was the blueberry and cranberry fruit candy, Little Jasmine had included. The candy is gummy and very fruity, tasting a little tart from the cranberry, but then sweet from the blueberry. It was very refreshing on the palate. The texture was similar to a gummy candy, not overly chewy, and nothing sticky on the teeth.

The next up was the Little Jasmine, lime fruit candy. Also wrapped individually in the bag, and made with the same ingredients that are real juices, and gelatin free. For being a lime candy, it was not sour at all. Still a juicy, flavorful gummy type candy. The flavor was refreshing, and again not over sticky.

As for the third bag from Little Jasmine, they sent a bag of their fruit jelly candy, strawberry fraise flavor. The little jelly gems are made with the same natural ingredients as the other two bags, and are great vegan snacks. Each candy in the bag came individually wrapped, just as the others. When you chew them, its nice because they don't stick to your teeth. The flavor is bold, you do taste the strawberry juice its made from. Another great thing about these fruit candies are, all of them are fat free.

Also from Arroyo Kitchen, I received two boxes of Natural fruit filling cookies.

First was the Arroyo Kitchen "apricot", a natural filled cookie, that tasted like a filled shortbread cookie. The filling in the cookie is simple natural fruit filling of apricot. The cookies are non gmo, and preservative free, and contain no corn syrup or fructose. The cookies are great on a platter for dessert, or as a quick snack on the go. Each cookie in the box comes individually wrapped, and there are eight per box.

The other box of cookies from Arroyo Kitchen "pineapple", is made with the same natural ingredients. These round cookies taste just like a homemade shortbread cookie jammed packed with a natural fruit filling. They also come eight to a box, and each one is individually wrapped. Whether using them as a snack on the go, or opened and spread onto a platter for dessert, they are very tasty. The outer part of the cookies are both soft when first biting into them, until you reach the fruit jelly filling.

All the products from Little Jasmine, and Arroyo Kitchen are great. And if you would like to know more and order some of their wonderful products, visit them at their websites.
