Sterling Valley Maple Syrup Review

Our family breakfast this morning was so good, thanks to the wonderful maple syrup we had on our pancakes, and fried bananas. Also the baked apples with the maple sugar.

The syrup came from a family owned and operated business out of Lewis County New York, "Sterling Valley Maple". Sterling Valley Maple is a registered organic source of syrup. All of their maple syrup is registered organic by NOFA-NY, LLC. Organic certification means that a third party has inspected their woods and boilers, that they use with, only approved materials and methods in the production of their syrup, and that they keep extensive records enabling them to trace their syrup from the tree to the container. Sterling Valley Maple's Maple Syrup has been accredited by Earth Kosher, a globally recognized Kosher Certification Organization. The method includes an overview of their manufacturing process and a Rabbi inspection of their facilities.

For the first maple syrup from the company, I used their Sterling Valley Maple dark color syrup, on apple cinnamon pancakes. The syrup was a medium color, and had a strong taste to it. Strong in the sense that you really tasted the maple. Paired very well with the cinnamon and apple pancakes. There are no additives in the syrup, and the syrup stuck to the pancakes making them extra yummy. Not runny like store bought syrups.

Also the company sent a cute sample bottle of their amber colored syrup, which I used for fried bananas. This syrup added so much flavor to the bananas, I used no sugar, just the syrup. The flavor was perfect, no to sweet at all. After frying the bananas I coated them in the syrup and stuck on them perfectly. With every bite, you tasted the sweet maple sugar.

Also from Sterling ValleyMaple, I received pure granulated maple sugar. For this I baked some gala apples and only used the maple sugar in them as the single ingredient for flavor. The pure granulated maple sugar is a delicious product, that I could use to enhance flavor in may recipes. The interesting thing about this sugar is you can turn it into maple syrup, and use it for a dessert topping, or as a flavoring for a meat dish. The same with the syrups, they are great to use in any recipe that calls for sugar.
