Sausage Peppers Mac n Cheese


Sausage and Peppers Mac and Cheese

What you need:

1/2 kilograms Italian sausage
1 red bell pepper, diced
1 large onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
2 cups marinara sauce
1 1/4 cups shell pasta
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/2 cup heavy cream
Olive oil, for frying
Freshly chopped parsley for garnishing

Place the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and prepare the sausage until it is cooked through and golden brown. Add the bell pepper, onion and garlic and simmer for 5 minutes. Add rice, chicken broth and marinara sauce. Reduce heat to mild and simmer for 20 minutes or until pasta is cooked al dente. Finally, add the mozzarella and the heavy cream. Stir until well combined with other ingredients. Remove from heat and garnish with parsley before ready to serve.
