It's going to be Mexican
night tonight for dinner. And for each dish I will be trying products from
Whispering Banshee Café. The company is located in Germantown MD. Their motto is: Good food comes from perfect
ingredients and fresh, local ingredients are tasty. And all their wonderful
products are handmade.
I will be making five
different Mexican dishes with the hot sauce the company sent me. So it's going
to be a hot fiesta in our mouths tonight! It's a big night, with great taste's.
First up is I made salsa and
tortilla chips, and in the salsa I added the south of the border fireball
sambal. This hot sauce, as with all the bottles, is 5oz's. For this sauce you
get the taste of cherry cinnamon, with a nice kick after the sweet taste. It's
nice to know that the hot sauce is vegan, low sodium, and diabetic friendly. The
sauce was spicy, and I get the taste of the peppers. However, after the heat,
does come a sweet taste. But with the salted Tortilla chips, the combo was
balanced.
Second dish I made was with
the all American twisted sambal hot sauce, and that went with the fried eggs.
This sauce is also in a 5oz jar. It has the taste of apple and date, with a
heat that sticks with you for a little after eating. It has a representation of
a fruity hot sauce, with heat. The heat level on this one was a three, so I am
glad I had to wait for the next to dish's to cook. It gave our tongues a chance
to recuperate. The sauce would also go good on rice, or chicken, just about any
recipe you created. It is a power house of a hot sauce.
The third dish of the night
was a Doritos casserole with the volcanic sambal. So the casserole is done and
inside and on top I used some of the volcanic sambal hot sauce. It gave the
meat for the casserole some added flavor. This sauce has the taste of pear,
with a heat that creeps up on you. There is a taste in their also of some
cinnamon. It’s a very creative hot sauce, with unique flavors. And really
compliments a beef dish.
And the last dish was fried
chicken, and for that I used the gila insane sambal. I used this as a glaze for
my fried chicken. But after tasting it would go great on everything. The size
of the hot sauce was 5oz's just as the others. This was a pineapple flavor with
a heat that faded into your bite. The balance was just perfect and paired with
the chicken made a delicious dish. I can also see my self using this in Asian
cooking, or even on a fish recipe.
If you love hot sauce, you

hotness today!
