A
smoothie (often pronounced smoothie or smooth) is a warm, cold drink produced
with puree fresh fruit (and often vegetable) combined with ice cream or frozen
yogurt along with certain ingredients such as soda, compressed ice, fruit juice,
sweeteners (e.g. butter, sugar, steiry, syrup) food goods (e.g. milk, yogurt or
cottage cheese, whey powder).
A smoothie with dairy
ingredients is identical to a vegetable milkshake except the latter typically
contains less fruits and also includes ice cream or frozen yogurt.
Razzy Blue Smoothie
Ingredients
1 Banana
16 whole almonds
1/4 cup rolled oats
1 tbsp. flaxseed meal
1 cup frozen blueberries
1 cup raspberry yogurt
1/4 cup Concord grape juice
1 cup 1% butter milk
Directions
Peel banana, then carve into
chucks of 1/2 inch. Chill in until solid in the freezer, for around two hours.
Put the food in a blender with the almonds, oats and flaxseed; pulse until
finely ground. Add frozen mango, frozen blueberries, yogurt, grape juice, and
buttermilk; blend until smooth. Enjoy it!
Strawberry banana Smoothie
Ingredients
3/4 cups fat-free milk
1/2 cup of frozen strawberry
fat-free yogurt
1/3 cup of Post bran flakes
1/4 strawberries
1/4 cup banana
Directions
Place milk, yogurt, bran
flakes strawberries and bananas in the blender on high-speed until smooth.
Lemon berry Crush Smoothie
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups milk or fat-free
milk
1 1/2 tsp. Crystal light lemonade flavor drink mix
8 oz Breyer's Smooth &
Creamy Vanilla Cream yogurt
1 cup fresh or frozen
blueberries
1 cup ice cubes
Directions
Blend ice and then the rest
of ingredients in the blender on high-speed until smooth. Yum!
