Great Northern Gourmet Coffee Review

This afternoon, I got to enjoy some Gourmet coffee from Great Northern Gourmet Coffee Company, from Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

The company is what you would refer to as a "micro roaster", and they have been in business since the early 1980's. What is unique about the company is their location. They are at the base of the Teton Mountains, in Northwest Wyoming, this location is south of Yellowstone National Park. It's a place that has brought many together, around a warm fire, and a cup of coffee.

The company use's a "oldworld" style of making their coffee, that gives the coffee balance, flavor and a great experience to their coffee drinkers.

Great Northern Coffee company, is a certified organic coffee roaster, and they are US fair trade certified. The coffee is shipped all over the world, so with this I am very excited to get started.

Since the package came in the afternoon, I started with a cup of the Highlander Grogg blend, and a fresh donut as a snack. This blend of coffee is one of the most popular within the company. It has a creamy butter rum flavor, and went very well with a glazed donut. The taste was smooth, not bitter at all. I love it as a great desert coffee. You get a tiny hint of spice in the coffee as well as the buttery flavors, really enjoyable.

Now for after dinner, the organic Teton blend was chosen. This gourmet coffee is a dark roast. It had a rich full body flavor, and has a blend of South America and African coffee's. It also was very smooth on the palette, a taste that will not disappoint you. Since this coffee comes from Wyoming, I can picture cowboys, sitting around drinking this blend. This organic blend is made from only the finest Arabica beans, free of any pesticides or chemicals.

Well it's the end of the night, and in the morning I plan on having the last bag I received from the Great Northern Gourmet Coffee company.

Ok, the house is alive, it's 5am, and the coffee is brewing. I am using the organic Sumatra "Takengon" coffee. This coffee is full bodied, and comes from the Gayo Mountains. This coffee is a shade grown coffee, that is rich with a earthy flavor and a full body. Brewing, it gave the entire house a aroma that was very inviting to the kitchen table. The taste of the coffee was fresh and clean, very rich flavor. There was very little acidity to the coffee, and was very pleasant as well on the palette. The aroma was like someone was in the house smoking a pipe with chocolate, spice and vanilla.

Any of these coffee's would be great any time of the day, and I plan on switching them throughout, with different dish's.
