Butler Food and Sam's Harvest Review

Plant based food is becoming very popular, due to the health benefits, and being so sustainable and organic. And today, for the first time I get to try some very unique plant based food from the company "Butler Foods"

Butler Foods is located in Grand Ronde, Oregon, and is a family based business. It is from having the opportunity to live in Africa, that learning new ways to alleviate starvation and famine was discovered. And that natural, whole foods, a plant based diet was the answer.

So I will be using their products today, which are not only plant based but animal free. The products that I received are soy curls and Sam's Jerky. Products that are a natural alternative to meat, and are not only yummy but have great health benefits.

What is a soy curl, well take a look at this, it is:

100% Natural

High in protein
Good source of fiber
Gluten-free
Vegan
Non-GMO - no chemical pesticides
Grown & made in the USA
0 trans fats

What you can make with Butler Foods soy curls is amazing. Everything from stir fry, to salads, to great barbeque dish's. To make them is easy as making apple pie. A easy four step process, soak, drain, season, create. And if you want to learn more, Butler Foods will help you, by clicking here. These great plant based soy curls, contain no preservatives or any type of additives. And to keep them fresh, you just put them in the fridge or freezer. It doesn't get any easier then this.

So I made some delicious Mac and cheese with my soy curls. By adding some of my own ingredients, I had a delicious meal. It's so easy to rehydrate the soy curls, by placing them in a large bowl and covering them with two cups of very warm water. You let them sit for ten minutes, drain, and set aside. Then you prepare the rest of your dish. And to cook my recipe I used my instant pot, and the whole dish took five minutes with a quick release. At the end I added a pinch of salt, and my cheese, mixed it very well, and then let it stand for five minutes to set to a firmer consistency. My family was amazed, not only on the taste, but by the appearance. Butler Food soy curls are great for vegan and vegetarian. They are all natural, and are so easy to create dish's with. Their taste is very exquisite, and they are very versatile to use. The Butler Food soy curls are a wonderful alternative to meat. The options for dish's are endless, using your meat recipes minus the meat, you can create the same dish, in a more healthier version. You can even recreate ethnic dish's like your favorite Mexican tacos, your Chinese stir fry, and even your Italian Mac n cheese. The soy curls from Butler foods are great not only for adults but for kids to. The soy curls absorb any seasoning you add, and do so super easy. They make a quick meal to have on hand.

The other product Butler Food sent over was their delicious Sam's Harvest Jerky. It is the new addition to their products, that give you long lasting energy. The jerky is made from a blend of special spices, with heart healthy plant based protein. They make a great grab and go snack for the whole family to enjoy. Sam's Harvest Jerky is also vegan and gluten free, and certified kosher as well. The best feature is they are made with whole non gmo soy, and feature organic wheat free tamari. The salt level is perfect, there is no salty taste to them. The chew is nice as well, nothing that you have to pull your teeth out with. This is my first vegetarian jerky, and the whole family really enjoyed the flavor. You will never know it is a plant based jerky, it still has that beef taste.

The last recipe I made was using Sam's Harvest Taco Crumbles, mild chipotle. For that I made some great tasting tacos for the kids. The taco crumbles are a very versatile vegan and vegetarian substitute for meat. And the kids gave it their stamp of approval. To use Sam's Harvest crumbles, is very easy, just by adding water directly into the bag, and soaking them for about eight minutes, then into the skillet they go. The heat level is very mild, and the kids did not mind it at all. The crumbles are made from non gmo, whole soy beans, and again the chipotle seasoning, which is very mild. The Sam's Harvest taco crumbles are a great product for any meat dish you want to create, with out the meat. You can make tacos like I did, or even some great tasting nachos. The ideas can come from your own recipe book. Here's the ingredients of the Sam's Taco Crumbles: whole non-GMO soybeans (Soy), grown without chemical pesticides, non-GMO hydrolyzed soy protein (Soy), organic evaporated cane juice, maltodextrin, sea salt, chipotle chili flakes, garlic powder, vinegar powder, spices. So fresh and so tasty.
