I had the most tasty meals today, with products from
Suhey Peppers, a company located in State College , PA.
Ginger Suhey shared her gourmet peppers to hungry
crowds gathered around tailgate party's. With such a hit on her hands, she
started production in her kitchen with the help of her son's garage. This was a
family that was rich in the history of Penn State football.
As the demand for these treasures grew, Ginger's
operation had to expand, in order to get Suhey Peppers, to families kitchens
every where.
And in my kitchen for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, I
used Suhey Peppers to create some yummy dish's. From mild to hot, all the
peppers, were the star of each dish.
This company that is women owned, makes their peppers
in small batch's, giving each jar quality and fresh ingredients. All the
peppers are grown and harvested locally. Then there is a process for them,
basking overnight after being sliced, and blended with spices. This is where
the power of taste comes from. Add the hint of vinegar, and the best olive oil,
and you get some of the best tasting banana peppers! Throw some of these
peppers in your recipe, for a scrumptious dish.
Breakfast was first, and that was a Italian egg
sandwich with, Suhey Peppers, original. What a amazing breakfast it was. Right
through the jar, you see all the sliced up banana peppers along with their
seeds. At the bottom you see the clove's of garlic, that add that extra flavor.
The olive oil and pepper mixture has a very divine flavor. In every bite you
can taste the love put into making these yummy peppers, that you can
incorporate into any recipe. The banana pepper melody really brought a true
authentic taste to my Italian egg sandwich's, and with this much flavor I
couldn't wait to cook with the other two.
Having a instant pot, I decided for lunch to whip up a
nice gumbo for lunch, and incorporate near the end half a jar of the Suhey Peppers, hot. You know you need it hot when it comes to a good gumbo. And Suhey peppers, brought it, and you tasted the peppers in every bite. Made with the
same process, and same fine ingredients, just a little more of a kick. Those
big cloves of garlic and the spice blend really bring a specifically pleasant
flavor to the dish. What ever the spice, it was a nice dominant flavor profile.
These Suhey Peppers are really versatile, and your
mind just goes crazy with ideas of what to use them in.
For dinner, I made some smothered pork chops, and they
were smothered with, Suhey Peppers, mild. And guess what, they to were made in
the instant pot. And using this type of pot being a pressure cooker, the Suhey
Peppers were still dominate, they did not disintegrate at all. You got the
garlic flavor, the spice flavor, and the nice slices of the banana peppers,
which range in colors that are very vibrant.
With all the jars of Peppers from Suhey, there is a
very subtle tang from the apple cider vinegar, but it’s a pleasant flavor on
your palate.
Grandma, Ginger, really knows how to make these,
pepper treasures. I can see, and taste why they are legendary.
You can really make some delicious recipes with these
products from Suhey Peppers, or even just grab a fork and eat them right out of
the jar! They truly bring forth a ton of flavor, so much so, you really don't
need to add any additional ingredients.
If you want to make these Suhey Peppers apart of your
own family tradition, visit them online or on Faire.com.
Your taste buds will thank you!
