Zen of Slow Cooking Review

I received today some great products from the company "Zen of Slow Cooking". A company that gives back helping individuals with developmental disabilities, through employment.

Based in Illinois, this company is on a mission, to help with great tasting slow cooking recipes, and helping those with disabilities work!

Their vision is one that does not exist in some homes today, and that is a meal that brings you together. Zen of Slow Cooking wants to help the home cook, and inspire them to create great tasting meals, and to help create a inclusive economy. This is all being done with a team of dedicated women, running a wonderful business together.

They work hard to bring you the right spices, that will transform any meal you cook into a chef's delight. By traveling, they are able to find spice's from around the globe, that will inspire you to create the same type of dish in your own kitchen.

The box of Zen of Slow Cooking products, came just in time. So I was able to make some dish's in my instant pot!

For lunch I was able to make some pulled chicken sandwich's, using the Zen of Slow Cooking, Smoky BBQ bag. It is a nice blend of Spanish spices, that not only flavors your food, but brings a stunning color to it. There is a nice smoky flavor profile, with a little kick from the cayenne. And a nice sweet, from the brown sugar. A nice Spanish BBQ blend. And it all came together for me in my instant pot. The color of the chicken was vibrant, and made your mouth water, and ready to bite in. The chicken came out nice and juicy, with a intense Spanish flavor. Great for soup, chicken, pork, any dish you want a true Smoky BBQ flavor of.

Dinner was next and the first course was the Quinoa salad, using the Zen of Slow Cooking, Southwest Fiesta bag. Now the only thing cooked was the Quinoa, and this spice bag, brought a burst of flavor to the salad. Doing this type of recipe with the product gave me the chance to show what other type of dish you can use, Zen of Slow Cooking products for. This spice blend is also salt free, so very friendly for those whom have to watch their salt intake. You also have great Spanish ingredients in the bag for a great Tex-Mex flavor, with a kick from ancho chili's. Great for soups, tacos, any type of dish, that you want a nice Southwest taste profile in.

The Zen of Slow Cooking spices are artisan blends, that can be used not only in a instant pot, but in recipes you create using a slow cooker, a crock pot, or stove top or oven cooking, meal. Each bag of the spice blends gives any meal you prep and cook, a award winning taste. They are very easy to use, and will make your dish's as good as a five star restaurant, made in your own kitchen. You will be so surprised at the way adding these blends, flavors and colors your dish's. All the blends that come from Zen of Slow Cooking, are made with real spices, that they have put together for great tastes.

Again using my instant pot, I made some rice and red beans, and used Zen of Slow Cooking Tuscan. This gave my dish a real Mediterranean flavor profile, that was zesty and robust. The blend really compliments the beans, and the rice. The zesty flavors come from red pepper flakes, in the blend. Now even with a kick, the dish was kid friendly, because all the blends are in great proportions. This blend is also great to create a nice burger, or a addition in some soup. You will be very pleased with the outcome, how ever you incorporate it. It would also be a great blend to add to some baked fish. A truly great gourmet artisan spice blend!

Luckily a great investment is a extra instant pot, "pot'", this gives you the opportunity to keep going without cleaning after every dish you make.

The last dish, was some cabbage, shrimp and sausage, again in the instant pot, using the Zen of Slow Cooking, Coq Au Vin. Not just for chicken, this blend really worked for this dish. The aromatics were divine, and the flavor profile spot on. Just plain and simple ingredients, with no heat, this time. The French herbs, was inspired by the late Julia Child's classic French recipe. But it worked just as well with these three choices I decided to use. The blend just brought out the natural taste of each ingredient, with a exquisite taste. You can also use this blend in a French dish, or make Chicken in Wine, but be creative, you will be satisfied with the flavor it brings.

If you would like to try any of these blends from Zen of Slow Cooking, you can find them on their website, or Amazon, or Faire.

Your on your way to some tasty dish's!
