Celebrate this year's fourth
of July with a red , white and blue dessert.
Ingredients
A box Betty Crocker white
cake mix
follow directions for cake
mix
1 teaspoons Betty Crocker red
gel food color
1 teaspoons Betty Crocker
blue gel food color
Betty Crocker vanilla
frosting
2 teaspoons red, white and
blue candy sprinkles
Preheat oven at 350 ° F.
Liberally brush a 12 cup fluted tube flour cake pan with flour mist.
In a wide bowl, beat the cake
mixture, water , oil and whole eggs with an electric mixer at medium speed for
2 minutes, scratching the tub regularly. Put 1 cup of the batter in a medium
bowl; mix in 1 tablespoon of the red food once mixed. Put 1 cup of the batter
in another small bowl; mix in 1 tablespoon of the blue food until blended.
Apply the red cake batter to
the bottom of the tub. Carefully put the remaining white batter over the red
batter in the tub. Carefully pour the blue drum over the white drum. t(Blue
does not have to cover the white completely; it looks better if it just forms a
ring in the center of the white batter.
Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until the toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Take the cake out of the oven. Let stand for 10 minutes, transfer from the pan to the cooling rack. Cool completely, about an hour.
Place the cake on the cooling rack over the waxed paper or the cooking of the parchment paper. Place 1/4 cup of the frosting in a shallow microwave dish. Microwave exposed for 10 to 15 seconds or until it was smooth enough to drizzle over the slice. Using a knife, drizzle warm icing back and forth over a cake with a striping design. Divide the remaining frost between 2 small, microwaveable bowls. To 1 bowl , stir in 1/4 teaspoon of red food until well blended. Microwave exposed for 5 to 10 seconds or until it was low enough to drizzle. Drizzle the coffee. Continue for the remaining frosting bowl and 1/4 tablespoon of blue milk. Sprinkle the candy sprinkles over the top. Let stay for around 30 minutes or until frosting is finished.
