Today, I received some products from
All
the products from Pearl Honey Spreads, have real ingredients in them, and are
made with love and perfection. And I will be using the two products sent to me,
to make two dish's for the people I love and whom inspire me, my family.
First up, was a cute jar of Pearl Honey Peach Almond Conserves. This is a all natural sugar product, meaning no sugar was added, the sugar came from the ingredients. Speaking of ingredients, all that the conserves is made of is peach fruits, almond, honey, lemon juice, fruit pectin and water. There is no artificial coloring or preservatives. Just plain old natural goodness. Using a conserve is a first for me, and just looking into the jar, it looks amazing, and smells amazing as well. So if you don't know, what fruit conserves are, it is a product that is usually a combination of two or more fruits, maybe some nuts, and then cooked. For tonight's dinner, I decided to keep it simple, and with the Pearl Honey Peach Almond Conserve, I made a baked brie, and added the conserve not only in it, but on top of it, along with some fresh sliced almonds. The texture of the conserves is a nice thickness, and has a little chunk to it. As far as spreading it, worked very well. The flavor is so delicious, fruity, with a nice sweetness to it. Paired with cheese, I could have not asked for anything better. You definitely taste the love that went into the conserve, and the time to make such a amazing product.
The next product sent by Pearl Honey Spreads, was another first for me to try. It was a Tomato Basil Preserve. Now when you hear the name, you think pasta sauce. Well it's nothing like a pasta sauce. The ingredients in the jar have tomatoes, basil leaves, cayenne pepper, cinnamon, honey, lemon juice, fruit pectin and water. And I thought how great this would taste as a pizza topping. So I gave it a shot, and it worked. Taking a pizza crust and spreading the Pearl Honey Tomato Basil Preserve all over, then topping it with red and yellow tomato's and fresh basil, a out of the box recipe that was fantastic. Normally when you think of preserves, you think of a fruit type. But we often forget tomato's are fruit. And the Pearl Honey Tomato Basil Preserves are so tasty, and versatile. I could see adding some to many different types of dish's from a grilled cheese to soup. When you open the jar the aroma is so inviting, you smell the fresh tomato's and the basil. This preserve is better then some pasta sauces and ketchups I have tasted. And you can be so creative with it. The sweetness from what the honey brings to the ingredients, is so tender. I have to say, the Tomato Basil Preserves are pretty fabulous tasting. And you know the tomato's used we're fresh, you can see the tiny seeds, right through the jar. The heat from the cayenne peppers, is nothing over powering. Over all the final taste is sweet, with a slight kick, that is still child friendly.
